These heavy duty Samsonite Royal Traveller 3-dial combo locks are great for locking luggage when travelling to the USA as the TSA (the US Transportation Security Administration) will not break the lock if they want to inspect your suitcase. Instead they will use a special key to unlock the lock. The breaking of regular locks frequently happens, every trip I have made to the USA the lock has been broken by the TSA.

1. Each Travel Sentry approved lock has a special identification mark alerting the TSA that they can open the lock without destroying it.

2. Each of these locks has a special TSA code.

3. Each TSA screening location is able to use these codes and secured tools to open the lock and then relock it after inspection.

4. A red ring appears when lock has been opened, notifying you that your bag was inspected.

I have seen these locks on sale before, I think they were on sale in Wilkinsons for about a fiver, other places sell them online for up to £8. At this price it is a steal.

Better that than have a ruined suitcase - one year they broke the lock on my suitcase and damaged the case itself. One of these locks would have stopped that.

Any country around the world can and will break into locked luggage if they want to - at least the US allow you to secure your luggage but will not break the lock if they want to inspect the contents.

Yes, these are good locks and are very useful when traveling to the US. Although the lock didn't help when they searched one of my cases and replaced the lock with another passengers combo lock!! Fortunately it was on my return journey.

Well they haven't made it up here, tried two stores and nowt.

Plus there's only so many times you can ask how much something is before they throw you out.

They were kind of randomly on their own, away from the normal padlocks and stuff, so you may have to hunt around for them...;-)
