A great drive at an amazing price! Probably the best value price per GB you will find available at the moment

I have 2 of these drives (paid about £75 for this 1.5TB version a few months back) and they run about the same speed as my 1TB 7,200rpm drive does, and they are also really quiet.

Free collection from their store, or free delivery for members of the forum with 250 posts that have been registered for 90 days. For everyone else it's £4.16 for 2nd class postage which lessens the deal slightly, but even then it's still a great price!

Item Description: -

Samsung’s F2 Series EcoGreen Drive (F2EG) is the ideal high capacity drive for green computing environments. The new eco-friendly hard drive, F2EG is designed to meet demand for high performance devices with lower power consumption. Samsung’s EcoGreen F2 makes it possible to design storage systems with the right balance of high capacity, fast performance and energy conservation. Samsung F2EG has the world’s best areal density at 5400RPM rotation speeds. High density means more bits pass under the head faster, and it improves the drive performance. Samsung employs an advanced data recording technology, which brings the next generation technology into today’s single disk platform, enabling Samsung’s new 5400RPM drives to perform at current 7200RPM drive speeds. The internal SysMark test results confirms that F2EG performs as same as 7200RPM drive speeds, and even 10% faster than other green drives.

True. You need to be a member of hexus or avforums for free shipping from Scan - So that may be better for those who are already members. Both great deals

You can get the free shipping from scan pretty much straight away. With OCuk, you would have to wait 3 months & make regular posts. But yes, both a good deal. (But scan is cheaper :)'

Yes it's cheaper by 89p... but Overclockers is a 5 minute drive away from where I live so I can pick one up quicker than I can get delivered from scan! :) lol.

Plus Scan's deal is for today only, so this deal is great for those who miss it, as it will be running until 1st September

I question the authenticy of those reviews. Just had a quick look at scan's reviews:
"Their website is very intuitive and easy to understand and the quality and effort that has been put into the design is immediately noticeable"

Yeah sure it is...
If your returning something, remember the person on the other end is human too, so going in disgruntled and angry will only provoke a certain response.

scans cheaper with avf's membership (free delivery) and you dont have to deal with ocuk aftersales! they are the second worst etailer about to microdirect they are a total **** with RMA's, scan arent tell them the prob they sent a courier get it see the failure and replace/refund with overclockers u have to pay to ship it back to them like microdirect

also ebuyer are great with there rma's i just had to get one with an msi gtx460 and it only took 3 days!

I've been there quite a few times and I've never had a problem with the service to be honest, I've always found the staff quite helpful if you have any questions.

Miserable but helpful when taking your money and very unhelpful when you are returning an item. I had to wait over 2 hours for them to test a faulty product (which took 2 minutes to test) they actually looked disappointed that the item was faulty.

Overclockers once refused to take a faulty item back because I'd damaged the packaging, it was some RAM that came sealed in a plastic sleeve and therefore impossible not to 'damage' if you actually want to open it. They were being *****, so I put on my best very loud and annoyed voice to ensure all other customers heard everything, several left the shop before they agreed to swap the item for one that worked.

Funnily enough I worked with that till monkey at another job a few years later, he said they always encouraged people to take up faults with the manufacturer rather than themselves as they couldn't be bothered to deal with returns. No idea if they are still the same, this was in 2006.
