I have a 600Gb one of these, works very well, but not aesthetically pleasing at all. Good deal.
#2
Have to wait till next thursday for mine to be in store for collection.Colour does not bother me as it will spend most of the time hidden under the tv stand.

hahaha - that really made me laugh

it's a external hard disk drive - what should it look like :)

Anyone know if drive in these are removable for putting in lapotop?

Decent price
#5
You can pay £23 more for a different colour. This is a bargain!

This seems like a good price. Any idea whether it's fast/slow compared to the 80GB drive from Zavvi?

Why does it say this on Comet's site:

SAMSUNG 2.5INCH 320GB PORTABLE HDD RED 250GB RED PORTABLE HARD DRIVE

Have they priced the wrong product or is that just a typo?

Well it says further down
Technical specifications
Brand: SAMSUNG
Storage capacity: 320 GB
Weight: 154 g

So definite case for refund if it does turn up 250gb

Good price and excellent drive, voted hot.

I have the MJ 500gb version and paid £107.13 for 3 (£35.71 each) @ Dabs last July.

I have rang customer services before I posted this deal and was told that it is 320 GB drive and that 250 GB is the typing error. Anyway we will found out soon when broadsswfc picks up his from the store.

Anyone know how fast these are compared to others external drives, also what are they like compared internal drives? I'm not very techie! This does seem a bargain but maybe not of it takes ages to transfer large files. Voted hot based on price though....

picked mine up quality bargain!!!

just got wifi sorted so wanted mine now! and cus it said 250gb they would honour it instore (much easier to argue with a staff assistant than an email that says were sending you a 50gb version!)

guy who sold it me originally said it was a 250gb then looking into it and i got a 320gb, he even said it was a bargain and is thinkin of getting 1now!!

just 1 thing left to do now...... anyone got ne spray paint!!!

Nice. It has a rugged plasticky/leathery underside and the rounded edges and relatively squarish shape make it look a bit crap. Not that this has any bearing on its use.

So, to clarify, if you would have just given your reservation number, you would have got a 250GB one?

You had to argue to get 320GB?
#22
Can anyone tell me if this one need two USB's for power?
Looks a cracking deal.
banned#23
Just to clarify, you cannot take this apart and use it in a laptop? Also i assume its a sata drive and not an old ide?
#24
No just one USB :)
I have the 1TB one and I love it!

Don't know what you are all talking about - very cool colour:wine. Much nicer than the shiny black that everything seems to be these days! Voting hot for the aesthetics alone!:)
#26
Just to confirm that I picked mine up and it's the 320gb.

When the girl looked up my reservation details it came up as 250gb. I then showed her my email that says it's 320gb! She picked up a 320gb from the shelf and scanned it in and it came up as 29.99 and she said "sorry, it must be a mistake on the system"

One happy bunny here! Hmmm might go back and get another!

Just spoken to a mate who works in Comet, the website is having some problems taking orders as apparently it's also free delivery on this item. It is definitely 320gb and the price is correct at £29.99.

If you can't order online, ring up and order over the phone. There are over 100 in stock and its free delivery if you choose Thursday 14th April or later.
Comet Order Line - 0844 800 95 95. option 1, option 1. Close at 6pm today but open 10am tomorrow.

Damn website is completely b0rked.

man the website is sucking hard...could manage to get the address and when pressed continue, it says null pointer exception !!!!! so i cant proceed, as per customer service there is a problem with website and their IT team working, they can take order online using chat, so will have to wait until tomorrow when lines open at 10 am.
