Cold from me...I'm still waiting for the hard drive I ordered from ebuyer 7 days ago despite paying a premium of £8.49 for next day delivery!!! On the positive side you do get the pleasure of spending 10p a minute waiting to advance to the front of the queue to speak to someone at Ebuyer who will promise a lot but deliver little.
Oh Amazon why did I forsake you!!

add a kingston 4gb usb stick and you'll get free delivery. Youre effectively getting the usb stick for £3.91.

Strange, i've used eBuyer for years and they've always delivered either on time or early!
Looks good though.. might have to get one for the PS3.

I have used e-buyer since they started up
and they have always taken the full super saver 5 days for me
out of maybe 70 orders over the years
2 have turned up a day early

I've used them loads and never had a problem either. I always go for the free delivery as it always arrives earlier than they suggest.

Shame it's not 7200RPM (speed)

They have never let me down

I had a similar problem, though to be honest I used the notes system got a refund on my postage and a replacement sent through the post. Which came next day. Then about 3 weeks later the original order turned up. Got to love Royal Mail. :3

£49.34 from Scan/TodayOnly. Free delivery if you AVForum member.

I'm tempted, but the only direction these prices are going, is down. I can wait. ;)

So tempting for my ps3 hmmmm
#16
Never had any problems with Ebuyer, free delivery always quite quick. Their own brand PCs are quite good as well.

My laptops got a 250gb with only 50gb free. So tempted with this. Hot from me
#18
Going to buy with an Esata/USB2 case I think.
#19
Anyone know if this will work with it?, it says 500 gig max but I wonder if only 500 gig 2.5" drives were available when this enclosure was launched.

not bad for 2.5
#21
Very hot deal. I have a 500GB in my PS3, but wish I got the 640GB as the 500GB is only around 365ish when the PS3 is all setup.
I got free delivery worth 9.99 added to my account as a birthday present from Ebuyer, but I always go Super Saver and sometimes get it next day anyway.

Make sure your laptop isn't a 7200rpm drive though.

I don't know for sure, but I had a cheap external enclosure and the box said 250GB max hdd size, and I've been using a 500GB in it for a year or so now...

Please update the deal prices to show the delivered price :p still hot though.

Would this drive cause any issues with bbciplayer? I bought a wd drive for my ps3 around a year ago and though I'm quite happy with it BBC iplayer is very jerky. I googles this problem and it seems very common with wd drives so if anyone out there has a samsung drive in their ps3 and can watch BBC iplayer without a problem please let me know.
#26
anyone thinking about getting this for there PS3 i would advise against it. i got 1 about a month ago it made the fan run on max all the time trust me when i say it runs loud. i sold it again and got a 250gb.
#27
the iplayer does play ok with the samsung but if you get this model its pointless dause you wont hear your tv
#28
Any ideas about the warranty?

did you try wdidle? I was unable to deactivate the intelli-parking with wdidle3 /d, but I was able to change it from every 4 seconds to 25.5 seconds with wdidle3 /s255. It works really well for me now.

Shame it's not 7200RPM (speed)

7200rpm would be a terrible idea in a laptop, the spindle speed would destroy the platters due to the drive movement

Ordered one from Scan last night, rather deal with them than playing the Super Saver lottery

Um, whut? I have had a 320gb WD Black 7200rpm drive in my Dell Studio 15 since June or July last year, has been back and forth to Uni with me over 24 weeks (20 miles each way - though turned off) and it's still fine.

Another one who has been drinking lighter fluid! By the way, a 7200 rpm spin speed does not necessarily result in quicker data reads. For small files, the access and seek times for the heads to move into place also plays a role in speed of data being transferred. Another factor is the actuator being able to read data that may be more densely written to the drive.

I put one of these in my MacBook, it's great, completely silent. An absolutely huge capacity to carry around with you!
#39
Very tempted to get one for my JTAG xbox 360, fantastic price

Buy one of these and a drive caddy for £5 (making delivery free) = 640gb portable hard drive for £50!
