No idea if this monitor does or doesn't have it, but do recommend considering with such an investment in widescreen monitors, whether you want HDCP (high definition copy protection) built into any DVI interface (HDMI interface will already have HDCP) as POTENTIALLY during its 3yr+ life you may want to feed it high-definition DVD material that is copy protected and need HDCP in the display (as well as your video card).

Personally I would pay the extra for the newer 226 model...

Same here... The 226 has a response time of 2ms and supports HDCP through the DVI.

Since both VGA and DVI have been scrapped for the newer, faster, DisplayPort standard I wouldn't worry so much about connectivity with this model.

Hi-Def still has a ways to go before it becomes a mainstream requirement, and this looks like a solid buy to tide you over until then with your existing setup.

VGA and DVI have not been scrapped at all. DisplayPort is just a new connection being offered and will not be available till late 2007 by AMD. Judging by their mauling by Intel at the moment in the CPU market and the delay of the HD2900XT plus their financial situation, expect a delay. VGA and DVI will be around for a long while.

There is no point getting a 22" monitor when it offers the same resolution as a 20" model and has a higher dot pixel pitch, meaning all you are paying for is a more stretched resolution. Some do have a slight higher contrast, which will only highlight the higher dot pixel pitch.

DisplayPort? DOA.
