I've owned loads of these they are very quiet if you turn on the Acoustic Management feature.

Great deal, which idiot voted cold? These won the PC Pro awards for best hard drive.
Been waiting for Ebuyer to stock these, but got an Enote back today to say they have been "discontinued". Their loss!

Good first post, but why bother with 250GB when you can get 500GB for less than twice this price + SATA2 + 16MB cache + 5 years warranty ?!?

Depends if you're going to use the extra 250Gb. I should think 9/10 people wouldn't. In my case want 2 x 250Gb in RAID1 to give some fault tolerance should a drive die on me again. (These are SATA II BTW)

Even though i would say Samsung SpinPoint HDD's are better than the rest (picks up lots of awards like you said)..but storage is the point of HDD's now..might as well get a 320 or a 500GB for the same price.

I have two of these in a RAID 0 set up in one of my PCs and they are superb...Samsung HDDs have never failed me,

Because sometimes more is not more! Many people could get away with using a 20GB drive if using XP and they don’t have music & video collections or lots of games installed.
Samsung drives have had a 5 year warranty for quite a while now and an extra 8MB cache is not significant.

Samsung are the best drives i've used. Very quiet compared to others and I haven't had one failed. Very good price.
