Just remember that as this is the basic kit then it won't come with the 3.5" adaptor to fit in a desktop

Cheers. Does anyone know of any reliability differences?

is google offline or something?
it's not. Intel 520 is the fastest consumer SATA3 SSD along with being the most reliable. vertex 4 is just as fast, the reliability is bit worse.
BUT it's more expensive than both 830 and m4, so average knowledgeable user will go for those.

Ok I wont then. The Samsung must be the fastest.

if you say so...
You need to ensure the BIOS is set to AHCI mode

Nothing special re Windows 7 installation based on my experience. (OCZ and Corsair SSDs currently in use) other than installing the Intel Rapid Storage drivers (also referred to in the thread above)

This drive appears like a hard drive does in the BIOS and when installing windows, so if you have done a windows install before, there is not much difference in that regard...
but...
to get the most out of the drive and ensure windows (7) knows its an SSD you really do need AHCI mode in the BIOS as per Paper Lawyer's instructions, however make sure you read about it, especially if your migrating your windows install.
TLDR? You can use this like any other hard drive, but to get the most life and speed out of it its worth doing a little reading.

As far as I can tell, that response was in relation to a question that compared the Crucial with the Samsung... Intel wasn't mentioned in the question.
