Don't you think that £400 for a 26" Samsung LCD TV is good? You can't find any cheaper.

Bear in mind that this is also samsung, best manufacturer in LCD tv's 100% proven. So better than all those cheapy makes.

What do you think? A good deal?

Not sure Samsung are the best. They've brought out a few duff models. They're popular by name, but I'll check the spec on this one.

Many reviews tend to say they are the best and having looked at many other makes have bought a 32" and a 23" and both are fantastic.

I bought the same TV from Curry's 3 weeks ago... for £374.95

It was the shop in Derby pride park..... the reason was next door they have Empire Direct store which has recently opened up recently and they have to price match.

Therefore, without checking i would think Empire are doing this set online cheaper than £400.

One thing the guy in Curry's pointed out, was that the set has built-in speakers that face downwards, hence the sound is a bit pathetic - but i explained it would be a second Tv for the bedroom and he thought it would be ok for this purpose.

Having got it home, it's a very nice looking piece of kit, but the guy was right - the sound is pretty poor (due to its inherent design) and i certainly wouldn't have this in my living room as a main Tv...without a surround-sound set up - but who wants 100m of cable 4 tall speakers and an amp under the telly? not me !

£400 seems crazy for such a small TV

don't touch pixmania

Its no surprise that pixmania is now owned by DSG International, which also owns PC World and Currys. Needless to say, the customer service of the latter 2 stores implies the kind of service you'll get from Pixmania...

On the other hand, I have ordered small accessories from them before (mice, etc etc) and they've arrived and been in full working order. But I wouldn't trust them with a £400 purchase.

i bought the same lcd in 23inch a few months ago form PRC Direct for £405, so i think it's a good buy. this lcd has been top rated by many lcd mags! 8/10

Cheap, guess they're getting rid of them to make space for the new Samsung models.

Nope i wouldn't say so.

The contrast ratio is lower, and most reviews say samsung is good. Plus it looks better :P

please can sum1 tell me difference between

LE26R71B

LE26R72BX

thanks

R71B = Blue (bottom) + Black (casing)
R72B = Silver + Black
R73BD = Blue + Black + DVB - T tuner
R74BD = Silver + Black + DVB - T tuner
R71W = White

The numbers mean the differences are just cosmetic, except the 73 and 74 also have the built in Freeview tuner. Im not sure anyone actually knows what the X stands for, its been asked before but no one seems to know.

Its worth having a read of this huge thread -
