Deal's already been posted, unless somethings changed. Isn't quidco 4%?

Don't forget to untick the scart lead they add in the link.

Price with Quidco or Egg cashback beats that :)

Note that's the older Samsung LE32R87BDX model. Although there's really no difference you may want to investigate further. AV forums is a good place to start (:
#6
I thought the R88 was exclusive to Dixons Group and the R87 was for the other retailers. I know there's a very slight difference but didn't think it was an older model?
#7
it's not an "older" model - its the same except for cosmetic differences.
#8
I have a similar model, really good HD telly.

Wall mountable???
On the Dixons 'Product Specification' it says no, but I have found this is not always accurate.
Can anyone who has this specific TV tell me if it is Wall mountable? Definitely going to get one if it can be hung. Darn cats would knock it over if it was on a stand. ;-)

its not this model but a bargain

Yeh your right, it's just a number behind. Only cosmetic. There's the whole panel lottery thing but I won't go into it.

I've checked mine against everything on the panels at AV forums and the one I ordered from Dixons, the R88 is an S-PVA panel, supposedly one of the better ones.

Handy link, if you want to check your's, has info on various Samsung models/panels. Samsung Panel Lottery

Aldi have 32" lcd with freeview for £389.99 this sunday
#17
Wooo - just had ours delivered and it is an s-pva panel.

Was worried about getting another type but am happy now :)
#18
So.... you can get either a Samsung S-PVA panel, a AUO AMVA panel, or a CMO SMVA panel.
Here is CMO's description of their new SMVA panel... http://www.cmo.com.tw/cmo/english/te...20030304111754

According to this page the normal MVA panel that no ones wants to be stuck with has a viewing angel of 45 degrees. The SMVA gives an extra 80 degrees! Better but still not the 170+ degrees that samsung quote

Samsung have been lying!

Sorry to ask again, but does anyone know if I can get both the discount through quidco and through my egg card? I only ask as the op says quidco or egg
#21
whats wrong with the r87 version for £489.99 at the co-op store (2% quidco), or go via shop.com for 7% quidco?

if all goes well this should come end up at £455
#22

£494 now which beats £517 with 4% Quidco Cash-Back.

If you've got an egg card then it doesn't beat £517 plus 5% cash-back (it's £491.95)

It's now £489.80 from PRC Direct. Their price keeps coming down. I think this is now cheaper than Dixons even with the Egg / Quidco discounts and the voucher codes.

Yes but as discussed many times before, the spec is identical and there are only a couple of minor cosmetic differences.

But you are correct it is technically a different model
#29
Dixons £517 less 4% cashback with Quidco (£21) = £496 is a brilliant price for this latest model!

Has anyone had their Quidco tracked yet?

Also what's the verdict from people that have received them?
Is the sound quality better than the previous model?
#30
Where's everyone gone?
Must be watching their new TV's! ;-)
#31
I have my R88 from Dixons. Quidco hasn't tracked completely yet, I know it's atleast recognised it as it appears via enquiries, need to wait 14 days to know for sure (:

I've had mine for.. 3 days and I love it. Bare in mind this is my first LCD TV. All i've done so far is hook it up to my pc via VGA, looks fantastic. I can put some pics up but it doesn't really do it justice, as they're only mobile cam pics.

I'm looking into an aerial for the freeview, although I'm not really interested in the freeview.
I'm waiting on my HDMI-DVI cable for long term pc hookup.
Waiting on component cable for XBMC hookup.

As i've only been using it with my pc via VGA I've only used my 5.1 speakers on pc so can't comment on the built in sound.

I'm currently using it as an extended desktop for media, which doesn't look to great but that's unquestionably expected considering the source (:

I'm debating between a wall mount or a new desk set up for it before I use it as a standalone.

It truely looks gorgeous though.

Thanks for your comments - glad you like yours Antispam - did you get the S-PVA panel?
Anyone else any comments about the sound quality & Quidco tracking?
#33
Well took the plunge last night and ordered this along with the xbox360 offer with the 4 games will let you all know what i think of it when it comes here's hoping im going to be amazed which im sure i will be.
#34
Yeah got mine hooked up to XBOX 360, PS3, WII, PC, SKY HD, HDMI DVD PLAYER with no problems and looks fine!

If you like i can post up a list of the best settings to use for XBOX 360, SKY etc.

Remember to use your XBOX 360 via a VGA cable (much better wuality that component / scart you get with the console)
#35
Yes please m8 if you could that would be great, much appreciated. So im better off buying the official xbox360 vga cable then?
#36
are the ones from dixons s panels then??
#37
if you get the component cable with the premium xbox 360, how does a vga cable look?
#38

are the ones from dixons s panels then??

So far it seems they are the ones people are getting from Dixons.
#39
Mine arrived yesterday and not impressed with snowy reception on several channels after auto-set up. I also have the previous 32" Samsung model LE32R73BD which, using same aerial, does not have a problem with reception.

Also noticed the previous model is larger - exactly 32" across the diagonal - whereas this new one is only 31 & a half inch - strange??

Anyone else had problems?
#40
Nope. I never purchased mine for freeview. The SD reviews weren't glowing, I knew that before I purchased.

Look around and I'm sure you can manually fine tune it to get abit more from your digy box.

I just checked, mines EXACTLY 32" so, I dunno what's gone wrong there with your set.

Check AV LCD Forums, link's posted in this thread a couple of times for optimal settings posted by Blackbox.
