Essentially the same model in Dixons but the R87 is replaced by R88. They have it listed at £550.

I dont have sky +, but my old sky digi box looks a lot better in PAL than RGB on my Samsung, check your settings.

Nice tv, nice price, but the new 100hz models coming out are soooooo much better.

why?

why?

They deal with fast movement and SD picture much better - same benefits as seen on old CRTs when they upgraded really, worth it if you're an action or footy fan.
Give it a year and most new models will be 100 hz as standard. Panny's latest look stunning and the reviews agree.
So I'd either wait a bit or spend the extra now.
#22
Buy now, and put this one in the bedroom when the 100hz arrives ;)

I think I can shave another tenner off this deal by buying it through Pixmania and using the code PIXSAM30 (£30 Discount). Brings the set down to £459 Delivered and then there's 2% Quidco ontop.

I'm really tempted :whistling:

Here's the link

#24
u'll probably get abuse from using pixmania
barge poles will be mentioned too:whistling: :giggle:
but i've used them and no complaints
#25
Yeah I know but I thought Dixons and Pixmania were one of the same now?
#26
looks good!
#27
If u buy via Pixmania make sure you use paypal as i bought a monitor but cancelled it before they sent it out, a week later i still hadnt got my money back, i contacted paypal and the next day the money was in my account.

It's a DEAL! I didn't really need one, but gonna give my sister my old Sammy 26" Gaming room HDTV (just bought her first flat) and stick this in there! Wasn't too impressed with it in Currys earlier, but been reading reviews etc, should do the job. Currys don't exactly let the HD sets on display show their potential do they?!

TBH, I've been hanging on, waiting to get a Sony Bravia 1080p set for downstairs, but couldn't resist this bargain, so will have to wait a bit longer!

Heat and rep given to all those who helped

Anyone have experience of Quidco cashback from Dixons? Says it takes an average of 5 days to track. Any problems?
#32
This is a really good, in depth review: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Samsung-LE32R87BDX/
#33
Looks like the Dixons price is back up to £488.00.

How do I get the Egg card discount?
#34
*Just an update*

Mine has just turned up from Dixons. I'm delighted as I've got the S-PVA panel :) The best of the 3 panels used on this TV (check the panel lottery thread on Avforums if you're interested).

Wish I wasn't at work!

Thanks again to the original poster. £446.40 delivered
#35
Has anybody else found problems with their LE32R88?

Mine is 3 weeks old and the logic board just died.
First the colour depth dropped and I had dithering on the picture and then the screen stopped refreshing to the point where after a minute, the screen was full of unrefresh pictures :(

Am currently battling with Dixons for a refund or new set... but the indian call centre people are proving difficult to deal with :(

Great TV though :)
#36
I saw you post on AVforums mate. Bad luck on that one. I'll certainly be on the lookout for any problems with my set.

As far as I'm concerned you're under warranty, don't know what Dixon's T&Cs are on returns though.

What panel do you have BTW?
#37
Hey maxliifo,

The panel was S-PVA, so I was well chuffed.
Looks like I am going to have arrange a collection for this one, send it to Dixons and then arrange for another set to be delivered. And then hope that it has an S-PVA panel again :(
#38
B*gger. Fingers crossed for you....and for me!

What was the viewing angle like in your opinion? Was it as bad as people are saying? did you get motion juddering (it was pretty bad with Sky HD in Currys)?
#39
I had no motion judder at all and the viewing angle was superb.

I suppose the fact that I want to get the same model to replace the broken one is a good indication of my satisfaction with it.

The viewing angle was outstanding IMO. You could pretty much stand side on to the screen and still see the picture quite clearly :)
#40
Cheers mate. Good to know  This'll be my second Sammy LCD TV (1st is 2 years old) and should be a nice step up from that one methinks.
