  Oops, liked instead of quote. I have the a8 processor from this generation and it is nothing to be laughed at (manages modern games fairly well) so I can't see how the a6 will be a 'super poor single core processor'

  Seems like a good price for the spec. The keyboard style and size (of the laptop itself) is inline to other 15" lapdogs, so i really don't understand what people are moaning about.
  
  I've used the i5 version of this (same casing) and its a very nice design indeed. Heated!

  This isn't a true dual core cpu. Its one module with two integer units and one floating point unit. It has less performance than modern Intel pentium CPUs. Still a decent price though.

  The gpu performance is similar to Intel HD 4000. The CPU is replaceable with an A10 4600m, although there is a significant cost involved in changing it, but it would increase cpu and gpu performance significantly.

  Any one who says on this forum a CPU is poor for a current 2010-2012 model computer from a brand and sold by a company whose buyers are experienced has too much time on his/her hand. The computer may not be such a hot deal because of pricing but I have never heard of any poor CPU from PassMark CPU Mark 500 to 4000+. Horses for courses. a CPU is priced in the market competitively against CPU power per $. A bad workman always blame his/her tools/computers.

  I can't say whether you would be able to do it, but it is possible to exchange the drives depending on how easy it is to remove the existing optical drive. Some laptops just have one screw in the base of the laptop holding in the drive.

  Have AMD fixed the problems with their laptop chips?
  
  I bought a HP laptop with an AMD chip a couple of years ago, and it has a major problem with overheating and it is not as good as Intel. I read at the time that it was a general problem that AMD had fallen behind on the smaller laptop chips.
  
  I get the impression that now Intel are still much much better on laptops. IIt is not just power but heat, and on a laptop you do not want too much heat.
