I got this TV from JL Liverpool store, they price matched Empire Direct - who sell on web but also have stores. Check on ED website, think it was the Bolton branch info I gave to JL, just phone the ED store to check they have stock in.I paid JL £549, have read since that JL gtee is not as good as I thought though.

Trouble is Empire Direct don't have these TV's in stock at their shops as yet and as such, John Lewis won't price match. They told me some weeks ago that they were expecting them in at the end of November. I called last Thursday and none of the Manchester shops had stock but will call tomorrow as I'm looking for John Lewis to do a price match too. The price has now gone upto £599 at Empire Direct so it must have been a number of weeks ago that you bought yours for £549 (It was that price when I originally checked)

voted cold as its cheaper in 1 million other places. Its also last years stock. new ones are the R88, its only cosmetic but I dont mind... I just bought the Toshiba 37wlt with the 100hrtz double image processing rate for 559 delivered from amazon.co.uk. This deal has also been posted on this site. Black colours are not as rich as on the Sammy, but the non motion blur on the tosh makes it a better buy me thinks! Speakers on this sammy suck as well... they are behind the unit..

Speakers on the samsungs i find are find. You can always plug in to a sound system of your own too.

ALso this ISNT last years model. The R88 and R87 were released at exactly the same time, and you will find that everywhere except the Dixons group have the R87, and PCW, Currys, dixons have the R88. NO difference except a little styling. Its just an exclusive to the DSG.

The newer samsung ones are those which have the 100hrtz. To be honest though, i honestly can't tell the difference with most pictures!

could anyone kindly direct me to a link which explains terms and conditions of John Lewis' 5-year free warranty on TVs please.

never suspected the content and quality of the warranty provided by JL until i came across a few comments which suggested they might not be as good as i had always thought.

thanks.
