The Samsung 3DTVs are finally out in the shops. The Edge LED 3DTV is being sold everywhere for 1900+ and in some shops we have to pay extra to get the 5 year warranty. Bought one from Costco for 1580 with 5 year warranty. A potential saving of 400 pounds.
stunning pictures. Highly recommended.

Can I ask why there are so many "hot" deals for overpriced, untested in the real world, tech? Anything over a grand is massively overpriced in my opinion.
#2
Kernodevil23.......please check other thraeds on this site for 3DTV and you will realise this is the cheapest you can pay for a very decent LED3DTV. Comment on the deal, as some might be looking for a TV like this one. I have been following it for last 2 months and this is the cheapest, making it a hot deal.

It's Costo though, I need a business in order to obtain membership.
#4
You don't need to be a business owner to join costco. They have a list of other people that can join, it used to be based on large businesses in the area which is how I joined. Its may be worth giving your local costco a call as they will tell you what you need to join.

Webiste states: -

Costco is an exclusive wholesale cash and carry membership warehouse club and is not open to the general public. Membership is required. You are eligible for trade membership if you are a bonafide business owner/manager who can provide evidence of trading. Follow our Trade membership tab above for further details.

you dont need a buisness, they have been accosting random commuters in Canary wharf for the last few weeks getting them to sign up for a card...
#7
You can't argue with the membership conditions listed on their own website.
#8
Just ask for whoever you work for to get you a membership card, its that simple. Loads of people have them who don't have a business (including wor lass)

Their TV 'deals' suck mind. There's never anything decent, usually 30% more expensive than the average internet site, but do tend to come with 3-5 years warranty.

If you wanted a set 3-4 years ago they did great offers, now just over priced and limited in range.
#9
You can also get the membership, if you ambulance, fireman, police, and a number of other things.

Those conditions are for trade membership. Costco offers Individual memberships for certain categories of people like police/fire service/local government. The list is quite extensive IIRC. Best thing to do would be to actually call your local Costco.

Maybe you need to read it more closely then :whistling:

From their website

What is Costco?
Costco operates a chain of cash & carry membership warehouses merchandise .................to businesses purchasing for commercial use or resale, and also to individuals who are members of selected employment groups.

So just about ANYONE then. The membership cost is a bit annoying though. Quite a few things are cheaper in supermarkets also.

They also do eye tests

Not true Dokko...most of the TVs they sell are better priced than most high street shops.

Kernowdevil23,

This site is for hotdeals, whether you like the technology or not, wether you can afford it or not.
Show me a price cheaper than this, I will eat my words.

I dont see why everyone is complaining...this is a great price for a 3D TV...I doubt if you'll be able to pick one up cheaper for some time...fair enough not everyone can purchase one...but for those that can its a good deal so stop complaining...if you dont like it then dont buy...no ones holding a gun to you head...and what exactly is he meant to get over?...seems like you're the one with the attitude problem...:whistling:

If you can't join Costco (by the way, I work for a bank and am allowed to join...), you might consider buying from here - slighly more but still a good price

The guarantee by pixmania is as per Manufacturer's, which is one year. Costco deal gives 5 years for no extra cost, thats the clincher

Agreed...if you can join Costco, which was the point I was (trying) to make..:whistling:

And if you do/can sign up as an individual, you can at any stage during the one year CANCEL your membership for whatever reason and get your money back - though I would assume they won't let you rejoin for a period of time. That's what they confirmed to me when I almost joined last month to blag a cheap car battery (as friend with the membership was out at work with their card when I needed it, but neighbour turned out to be a member).

The 3D tv is not available at their Watford branch.
#23
I bought it from Chester, they had sold 4 out of 5 in 6 hours!!

mate trust me, they have a list and depending on where you fall on the list depends on how much your membership costs. Police and NHS staff can get a membership and I wouldn't class them as a business or trade
#25
I can't afford it, but good deal and costco is great, so heat added to try and unfreeze this negative heat by the haters!
#26
I still hold a membership after obtaining one as a member of HM forces. They are a great deal more flexible than you might think now as I understand it. Worth asking if they have something you want.

I did say INTERNET sites.

Costco are comparable with high street shops, you might find a better deal in either, but overall not really worth pinning your hopes on.
