Thinking of getting this for my xbone 1 as a external HD due to the recent update to allow use of external HDs.
If you want it even cheaper get it from "Take a bite" fulfilled by Amazon for £79.

Anyone know what warranty you get with this? Is it just 12 months?

Just for info 3tb drives are not compatible with Windows 7 backup - just had to send mine back and get a 2tb one.

What do you mean by back up?
Does windows 7 recognise it at all?

Yes its works fine for copying files but if you use the Windows 7 backup programme it fails, something to do with a 4k sector size. Loads of info on the web.

Would creating a 2TB partition on the 3TB drive work? Another option would be to use a different backup program.

Partitioning doesn't work but using an alternative backup programme does.

It is three years manufacturer's warranty.First year is with seller although sellers like eBuyer pretty much shove you straight to manufacturer even within the first year. I guess RMA'ing a disk to a seller or to a manufacturer is same effort.
