you think wrong then as many tv's claim to be led when in fact they are led back lit
#4
I would think LCD TVs (eve if LED lit) would never be "arguably the best" at 3D since they would inherently suffer from crosstalk due to inferior response times when compared to equivalently priced plasmas.

To avoid any confusion, it is LED backlit.

Hope this helps.

everyone with a brain KNOWS that it means backlit LED

backlit LED is superior to Plasma and LCD

I'm yet to see any backlit LED TV that's superior to a Kuro Plasma....

In this case it is "edge-lit" LED which some people would say is inferior to "back/rear-lit" LED.

actually its not - each technology has its plus's and negatives so you cant say that ones better than the other.

for example only an idiot would say that a LED can produce blacks as deep as a plasma, also plasma has a far superior viewing angle.

I am not dissing LED though as it has enough benefits to justify its existence.

Plasmas have a problem with screen reflection

The Sony is much better than Kuro - that's why I bought it :-D

Sony better than PIONEER??????????

you really are a complete bozo.

the Panasonic 3D plasma beat the samsung as the screen reacts quicker to motion.
#14
I've had a Kuro now i have a samsung LED "side lit" and the blacks are as black as you can get, viewing angle is well within the range of normal usage (lets be honest who would watch a TV side on) all in all the LED TV's in general are far better than this old technology you call plasma.

Put a LED TV next to any plasma within the same price range and everyone would agree the LED is a better picture.

People are quick to shoot LED TV's down, i just wonder if those people would have said the same if manufactures plastered "this is a LED side lit LCD" all over the product from the begining.
#15
the old technology?

you do realise that Panasonic are now making 3D plasmas?
samesung and LG will continue to make plasmas too, because they are the TV of choice for millions of enthusiasts cos of their better motion compensation, more natural looking colours and long lifespan.

anyone who calls plasma old tech is fooling themselves.
and I say that as the owner of 2 LCDs!

saying that am looking forward to seeing the Infinia LG 8900 full LED, rather than side lit
#16
Don't get me wrong, i'm sure that things to come in the future will be better than what we have now. I am simply comparing current technology to the much older plasma technology that people seam to swear by without having the pleasure of watching a wide range of tv/films on the LED TV's
#17
not seen an LED set yet that doesnt have a blue tinge to the blacks when viewed slightly off centre.
and we have 2 samsungs and 2 lgs in our store.

LED backlight tvs arent exactly new tech either, its only the backlight thats changed, not the screen, its still an LCD. often glossy coated to produce deeper blacks, but can be more reflective depending on the angle of light in the room

rep for you, completely true

however as for 3D tv goes the panasonic 3d plasmas have gained better reviews than the current "LEDs" apparently they utilise kuro technology. can't wait to see one
