LED or LCD... this TV is stunning!!
#5
This is a whole lotta tv for the price :D
#6
This TV is insanely thin in the flesh. Would look brilliant on the side.

Still kinda pricey for a 40' screen tho, in comparison to other tv's you see on here.
#7
i take it this is the 7 series.

I saw one of these in a shop and a 54" version was nearly £2k!

I can however say it was very light and thin, there is a wall mount for it which is basically a wire and the TV hangs like a picture. Very cool looking TV but a fib is a fib, I was told by the bloke in the shop that it had an LED screen. I didnt buy it but had I bought it, I'd be wanting my money back.

Good price, good product.

Go away from this TV, I got it (with free blueray player), TV looks very nice, but you really cant use a remote controller! You must point directly on right bottom corner of telly, if you point other corner it won't work! Buttons are hard to press, TV menu is very slow! I wouldn't buy it again!

Why would you when you already have one?
#12
people seem to be confused this isn't the new super thin range ie 6000,7000 or 8000 its the previous gen of LED back light
#13
Havent seen the ads myself but on the box it clearly says full HD LCD TV.

Does the backlit by LED make a difference in the viewing quality as well as with the physical size/weight of the telly?

if I had a chance to turn back time I wouldn't buy it

These TV's are better picture than the current 6000 and 7000 LED Samsung LED series, the 8000 is slightly better however. I have seen them all next to each other and in my opinion this range is the best picture ever from Samsung. Bargain. H + R.

I wish people would stop calling these LED TVs, true LED TVs are OLED not LCDs with a LED backllight

overrated if you ask me, good price though

Samsung call them LED tv's, thus why other people call them this.
#18
yep this is a LED back light where as the current gen are pretty and thin but have edge mounted LEDs opinion seems to be the previous gen had better image quality:-D

There are more individual LED's than there are individual light sources in a normal LCD and these can be turned off completely whereas a traditional backlight is only dimmed. the result is greatly improved contrast although its still a bit behind plasma. The refresh rate is 200hz i believe, although this is nothing to do with the LED lighting. One more plus, power consumption *should* be lower than a normal LCD

This is am old model. You can get the new 200Hz model for the same price LE40A750, which has also a much lower power consumption (80W when on).
