...how do you know that? It is sold by Amazon.de they normally ship staff all over EU.

Aside from the slight inconvenience of changing the plug, are there any material drawbacks in buying a European intended set? (eg is the freewiew HD compatible?)

Because if you log in with your account it says the item is not available to the UK.

Is a German tv compatible with the uk channels? Will any functionality be restricted when plugging it in the uk?

Anyone can answer this?

It has got dvb-t tuner and you select region for channel tuning in TV settings so I cannot see why it wouldn't work in UK.

hmm a few times i have had "not available to UK message.." any way round?

Even if they are not shipping these to UK, Amazon.de price is giving UK customers good price indication, Argos is selling these as "great deal" for £599, Amazon.de selling these for £375?and still making some money!

...besides some of us may be lucky and have friends or family in Germany and could possibly get it re-postet to UK.

Clutching at straws?
It's not a deal... End of!

Realy, do you think so??? it is probably easier to get for many of us than majority of "specific in store" deals posted here on daily basis.

A part from the problem of getting it, does anyone know if it's actually any good?

It seems very cheap for 4k set?

Any reviews around?

To answer my own question;

Verdict

The Samsung UE55HU6900 is a case of you get what you pay for. Yes it’s 4K, but only when the picture on screen is mostly still. Once the camera starts panning, resolution drops away quite noticeably, and unfortunately there’s no motion-enhancing technology available on the set to reduce blurring.

The television is not without its virtues: contrast performance was good by LED LCD standards; input lag was low for an Ultra HD TV; plus greyscale, gamma and colour accuracy were top-notch after calibration. But we’re not entirely convinced the 55in HU6900 is the best choice on which to spend £1500, especially considering its lack of native 24p playback and Netflix 4K streaming. Buy it only if you’re going to view 4K photos most of the time.

In my experience, they don't ship Samsung, LG and Panasonic TVs (large ones). However, no such issues with Sony TVs. I guess the restriction is imposed by manufacturers and not Amazon DE.

You might be right, just checked different amazons fr es etc. and the TV is significantly more expensive there.

Expired, if they don't deliver to the UK then it certainly isn't a HotUKdeal

...mind you the review referred to £1500 price tag (not £375)
