cold for me after currys price recently for a 42"

Not sure if I'm missing something here but the Sony KDL40V4000 at £600 in DSG stores is a better LCD TV for less. Much as I hate to vote cold for someone making the effort to post, I'm going to have to.

Samsung don't do 42" TV's and if you are referring to LG 42" that deal has expired.

Thanks for the code though. Rep added for code.

I don't see why people are voting this cold. The last time I checked the tv can't be found any cheaper than £699. True the KDL40V4000 was a better deal from John Lewis however I heard that this is a better tv. Whether it's worth spending an extra £200 ish for a slightly improved picture with rose trim round the edge is questionable but some people are specifically looking for this tv. So good job h04x for spotting this discount code.

Don't know how this actually compares to the Sony but for this set this is a very good price.
This set has four HDMI's and 100hz
The general concensus on the forums seems to be top end Sonys top end TV's, bottom end sonys you get what you pay for!

Voted hot. This is a good price for the tv which has a higher contrast ratio 50000:1 and 100hz against the Sony 40v4000 which is £515 from Dixons using the code. It a matter of personal preference and budget. The stand is a good deal at £49.

Even the brilliant Sony KDL40W4000 (inc a 3 year warranty) is only 634.96, but the Samsung 6 series only compare to the Sony V series.

So why pay more for a crapsung?

Don't think I agree with that. i have the 7 series Samsung which i got after seeing a deal on here and it is Stunning in all modes. very pleased with it. I know it does come down to personal preferences but the Samsung is tops for me.

Happy New Year to all HUKD! and thanks for saving me loadsa dosh in 2008!

This Samsung deal is hot. It is a class above the Sony V model, with 100Hz, 10 bit panel for more realistic skin tones etc.

Smashing T.V but the LG 42LF75 is far superior!!

It come's down personal choice, I read some good reveiws about this TV and it looks great as well. Samsung are the market leaders in LCD TV for reason.

Dear Wacheem,

The TV signified in the above post, stipulates a magnificient offer for any person looking for new tv. For the price it is not bad but unfortunately there are far better models such as Sony V & W series available at similar prices at dixons using the voucher highlighted in your post.

But I must admit, for the price LG tv's are reasonable especially the recent promotion of the 42LG7000, which i have purchased for my Auntie who is highly impressed and addicted to this tv whilst playing Guitar Hero on the Wii.

I hope this helps

Many Thanks

Yours Truly
