A better deal than what was posted today from Bestbuy (£698 with a Blu Ray player):

You can get the TV from Amazon.FR (yes, that's France) for 598 Euros + delivery. Good news is that Amazon always charges the local VAT, so instead of the French 19.6% you will be charged 17.5% for the UK. This brings down the price to 587.5 Euros. Delivery is 35.50 Euros (including VAT), so a total of 623 Euros or around £550 (at exchange rate 1.13 - you probably get a better rate, depending on your credit cart)

The TV gets good reviews on Reevoo:

Cheapest UK price is Amazon.co.uk (!) £584.90

In my opinion a great price for a 40" LED. Detailed specs here:

I was being conservative with the exchange rate so that nobody gets a bad surprise ;)

From the Samsung webpage:

Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd support a product purchased in Europe if it has an EU Bloc Warranty. This warranty is present where the top of the product warranty card clearly states ‘European Bloc’. If the product is purchased in another part of the globe then Samsung may attempt a repair. Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd cannot guarantee the outcome.

Once you add the inconvenience of:

- possible foreign currency credit/debit card charges from most banks
- longer waiting time for delivery
- increase in difficulty to ship it back to Amazon if something is wrong or you don't want it any more
- having to use a Euro-UK power supply converter
- reduced resale value

Its probably worth spending a couple of £ more on a UK version
