Don't know why this is being voted cold - great price for this TV: 1080p, 100Hz, 50,000:1... and it looks brilliant!

Here's a review from hdtvtest.co.uk:

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Samsung-LE40A656/

Pros

* Excellent black level with decent shadow detail
* Very good standard-def video processing (especially video and film mode deinterlacing)
* Comprehensive set of picture adjustment controls available in user menu (including white balance and a rudimentary colour management system)
* [100Hz Motion Plus] reduces motion blur (but may cause interpolation artefacts; see Cons)
* "Just Scan" allows for exceptional detail from 1:1 pixel mapping
* Displays 1080p/24 video signal from Sony PS3 without exhibiting telecine judder
* Generous connectivity with 4 HDMI 1.3 input, USB port, etc.
* Settings can be stored independently for each input
* Can accept and display 1920x1080 progressive video signal over VGA
* User menu and EPG navigation quicker and more responsive than last year's models
* Swivelling table-top stand comes pre-attached out-of-the-box for quick setup

Cons

* [100Hz Motion Plus] may introduce interpolation artefacts like tearing, stutter or shimmering around moving objects
* Shiny "Ultra Clear Panel" reflects ambient light and causes glare
* Mild input lag (except in "Game" mode or over VGA) may affect sensitive gamers
* Some clouding and backlight unevenness (though reduced to unobtrusive levels after calibration)*
* Slight low-pitched hum from back of TV unless the screen is very bright*

* Denotes problems which may be specific to our review sample

Personally, if I'm going to spend over £700 on a TV over 40" It's got to be a Plasma - but each to their own.

I am after this tv but the missus wants to wait for the current 32" crt to give up first, however this deal has been posted twice so far once hot once cold.

Delivery is showing as free at the moment so deltv code wont work for me when I try a checkout run through.

This set will and deall will continue to get slated as it is a Samsung, despite some very good reviews and a host of features. Some one will also point out there was a deal on at john lewis for a sony with 5 year waranty which may have expired two months ago but was better as samsung dont make anything good (beside of course the panals that sony use!).

I like it Anyway have some heat.

got this tv in january 09. great picture quality but rubbish speakers. bought a samsung dvd 5.1 surround sound to connect it to, now sounds great. didn't pay £702, bought mine from an online shop for about £630 and collected from their barnsley warehouse; can't remember the name of the shop but will look for receipt to find the name if anyone wants me to.

It was from http://www.cramptonandmoore.co.uk/ but was part of a deal that included a dvd player and a three year warranty but I barted with them to reduce the price by the cost of the dvd player as I had already bought a 5.1 dvd system from dixons.

Looks like the deal I got has now ended but they are flexible over the phone; my mate bought this tv along with two smaller ones and got a good discount.
