How old is VERY old?? It's a gorgeous tv, about 2cm thick with the crystal surround, like I said in Tesco for £850... Doesn't that make this a good deal?? :(

Yeah I prefer the larger 9 series ones, if you can stretch an extra £5400 for this one it would be well worth it. Free 5 year guarantee as well!

I don't believe that is true - when Samsung launched the LED TVs they only had the 6, 7 and 8 series. The 5 series LED TVs were introduced much later. You may be getting confused with the 5 series LCD TVs which are now relatively old.

I think you may have to pay just under £30 delivery at Pixmania, but the cheapest delivered price I can see this TV at is £620 at AJ Electronics.

BTW - I have the 7 series and it is a fantastic TV and sooooooo slim!

The easiest way to tell how old a Samsung TV is is by seeing what letter is in front of the model number, e.g. UE40C5800. TVs in the C line are from 2010, B are from 2009 and A are from 2008. The TV series, i.e. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, can't be used as easily to find out how old a TV is as Samsung have released 5 series TVs in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Also, I wish Samsung would stop marketing their LED LCD TVs as LED TVs as it's very misleading to consumers and makes it look as if they're selling a brand new screen technology, when in reality they're still selling an LCD TV; albeit with a different backlight technology. If they continue like this, should Samsung then start marketing their non-LED TVs as CCFL TVs, given that the backlight is the only distinguishable difference between both types of LCD TV?

Totally agreed, I have the series 6 Rose Black Samsung TV, and this came out a good year after I bought minr... a mate of mine bought this exact TV when it came out (Trying to get one over on me as he always does)... daft sod paid over twice this price for his... over £1200.. this is a bargain...

The only thing that lets these samsung TV's down is the sound quality which is very tinny...

They bring a 5 Series out every year! Its got nothing to do with age. The 5 series is a lower end model, the series 8 is a high end model.

Then why is this getting colder and colder!?! I just wanna know if to get it or not! Any reviews??

Im not sure why this deal is cold then, i personally voted hot. This is a great TV and it is very slim.

Why is this cold? this should be warm at least.

Come on, FreeviewHD, 4 HDMI slots, 2USB slots and can be made wireless, sure it's only 50hz but still?

Voted hot.

It's £799 in Argos and £849 (with free 5 year warranty) in M&S.

You're forgetting Ultra-Slim ;)

People are forgetting that this TV has LED Backlighting, which is way better than the standard LCD TV's.
