It's also HD ready as well, i think it's a good deal but hopefully some tv experts let everyone know if it's actually any good.

1024 x 768 pixels

Not HD from my knowledge - TV probably downscales a HD signal to show it, so you would lose quality.

I'm waiting for new year sales -i guess the prices will tumble once the higher 1080p standard is more widely available.

Thanks

Hello,
just to say 1024 X 768 is a HD Resolution. The other one is 1080 interlaced. I have a TV that does both and it's very difficult to see the difference. Also 720 Progressive Scan is better for fast moving objects like football etc.

1024*768 will display all SD modes (NTSC and PAL) as well as 720i, 720p and maybe 1080i

For 'true' HD you need 1920*1080 native resolution.

Bear in mind Sky HD only has 12-14 channels at the moment and you'll not get terrestrial HD until after analog switchoff completes and even then I'm wondering how much HD content that bandwidth will allow.

Or you could buy HD-DVD or Blueray, VHS vs Betamax anyone ?
