I'm aware of that deanos ...;-)

As I mentioned in the other thread the 5% code is for exclusive use of NHS members - NHS192
#6
Its not the NHS code there is a YAW code, alot safer IMO buying from a UK company rather than a French one, even tho they are part of the same group DSG
#7
so whats the spec on the tv like? good or bad?

I thought the 96 was a dsg only model and the 97 the general model?

Features

Three HDMI (1 side) are a positive start for connectivity on the PS42Q97HDX and they are complemented by 2 Scarts with component video and PC input. The Samsung PS42Q97HDX also has a built-in digital Freeview tuner with 7-day Electronic programming Guide (EPG).

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE?
Conclusion

The Samsung PS42Q97HDX is the most accomplished 42in Plasma we have come across for the price. Not only is it a superb HD performer, the SD performance is more than a pleasant surprise with performance that does not quite match a CRT but comes close.

One of the problems with High Definition TVs is that they can be a bit rubbish at showing standard definition. Generally, apart from the best HD sets, plain old tube televisions still have the jump on newer sets.
#23
so does this mean that 'normal tv' would be better on a 'tube' tv than a plasma or lcd?

If you are worried about watching SD then get a Panny PX70, thats what i have and it gets great reviews when watching SD, i watch around 95% Sky in SD and it really is fantastic , Empire Direct are offering a free 5yr warranty at the moment on it
