Despite the voucher warnings, this is a deal.
I bought the same TV from simply electricals for £460 only 2 weeks ago. Grrrrr.

I had an even older samsung lcd before this one, so this one was an upgrade technically, even if it was caused by the 3 year old hitting the old one with a rolling pin. I missed out on the Bennett's 50 inch deal posted a few weeks back, on the grounds "I didn't need a new TV yet" - if only I had known lol.
(Needless to say, the new one is on the wall out of reach).
I'm no techo freak but I think for the money it's a fantastic TV and I am more than happy.

1080 is part of the resolution (1920x1080) and the 'P' stands for progressive, as opposed to 1080i with Interlaced, with Progressive being superior (they both run at the same resolution though. The numbers (580P/720P/1080P) are the resolution.

Google some of it and you should be able to find some simple easy to understand guides on it since I'm no expert :)

1280 by 720 is 720p (best for freeview) closer to normal tv broadcast (720 by 576) resolution
1920 by 1080 is 1080p (best for Blu Ray movies and SkyHD/VirginHD):whistling:
go int to a multi brand shop eg comet and ask staff to show you normal freeview on sets you will be amazed
