The H6850's Curved screen surrounds you, drawing you in and enabling you to lose yourself completely in the drama. Designed with a 4.2m radius curvature optimised for the average viewing distance¹ of most living rooms, it also offers a wider field of view by shortening the distance between you and the screen's corners and creates more natural viewing angles. Samsung's curved FHD screen provides higher levels of contrast and less external light reflections directed towards you compared to flat screens, delivering clearer images. The combination of Samsung’s proprietary PANEL, PROCESSOR and BACKLIGHT technologies work together with the optimal curved form factor to ensure you get the clearest possible images on screen.

200HZ, 400HZ, 600HZ, 1000000HZ...these comments always humour me, does no one actually realise the refresh rate does not change only it's put through nasty processors which are actually better switched off?

See now I want a curved tv. .. and I only just bought mine 8 months ago. The only thing that worries me about this tv is when you Google it there are no English reviews and no other site other than Selfridges selling it...... Old model perhaps?

The 4K tellies are really causing the 1080P telly prices to drop.

I would stick with a 1080P for now though, because 4K is coming in three phases and I think the current 4K tellies are first phase only.
They have to keep renewing their market. Imagine what tellies will be like in 10 years.

In a few years when curved displays inevitably disappear, because they're abhorrent, I'm going to laugh so hard at all the people stuck with them. Why would you want a curved tv?!

They're only really useful at 60"+. The point is for immersion - to be surrounded by picture. At this size, you'd have to sit a couple of feet away to get the effect. I nearly went for a 55" one, but was put off for that reason.

Curved Tvs are nothing but marketing gimmick.
Don't waste your money.
There is absolutely no benefit of curved screen.
#29
Why is it all these TVs are concave. And non convex.
#30
Unless you sit 2' away

( quite sad)

My next TV will be Curved, 4K and 3D. It's good to see prices coming down, means it's getting there!
2 Likes #36
Also with curved TVs they basically have a very small "sweet spot" where you get any benefit, so a lot of money for one person to sit and enjoy any immersion benefits while everyone else in the room has a much reduced viewing experience versus plain old flat TVs.

Hopefully they go away even quicker than 3D.
