Or, if 15MB/s is still good enough, for the very same price I'd recommend this one:

    Dane-Elec USB 2.0 Flash / Key Drive - 4GB - Very High Speed (110x)

Oh, I forgot to add the 2% cashback with Quidco...

That brings it down to £21.50 (44p cashback)

I got the 2gb version of the samsung one a while ago and am very happy with it, very fast transfers, can't see why anybody would choose the slower dane-elec though. This 4gb is not much more than i paid for the 2gb! Voted hot and heartily recommended, in fact i may just get one myself.

    Thanks for your feedback, Neurochasm.

I'm going to buy a 4GB stick today but still a bit undecided, I know Dane-Elec is a safe bet but was not familiar with Samsung on that market. The Dane-Elec one also looks very attractive, but I admit that for this kind of job it's the last factor on my list.

Have you tried to benchmark your data transfer speed?

NICE price! Think I am going to get one of these, reckon its readyboost compatible?

I also have the 2gb version of this stick and its very slim, as every other usb i have come across is small and fat. This is small and slim, and you will be pleasently suprised by the looks in real life.

Its very reliable and copys very quickly also when i insert into my vista laptop it says it can be used to help the laptop boot up faster?

That's ReadyBoost indeed. Thanks for that!

OK, say no more, I'm going to validate my order...

Yup, thanks Sohail - ordered also!

    Great deal, rep added.

I bought 2 or these off Ebay for a similar price. They are superb. Very fast and they are brilliant with the LG dvd player that has the USB connection on.

just a fyi, i've got the 4gb one of these, despite the superfast read/write claims, vista doesnt think its worthy enough for readyboost.

    good for the space though!

Cheers Sandman! Ordered mine too, as well as this great card reader for £4.25 (not worth ordering alone):

It's about the size of a USB stick and actually becomes one when you put a card in, very clever. The cheap ones tend to fall apart very quickly but this one is from Dane-Elec so it's got to be better quality.

Nice one, as someone else mentioned will be handy for Vista's ReadyBoost function.

Not find a better deal? I beg to differ ;-)

They used to have this one for less than £20...seems to have went up though:

As far as I know that USB pen aint actually made by Samsung, but the flash memory component is. Samsung is one of the biggest manufacturers of flash memory so even some of the cheapest pens will use them.

I think he means for one of this speed.

I just copied & paste the article, but that's right I'd think they meant for that category, specifications included.

Nice find though! I knew that Samsung were big on the chips & components market, so it makes perfect sense, thanks for the information.

Well if it really matters to you, just hold on for a few days, I'm running Vista so I'll let you know as soon as I get it. ;-)

I just tried it again on an acer laptop with vista home premium installed and readyboost works

Just to add, cant say ive noticed that much of a difference in speed tho!

Thanks for that Sohail! ReadyBoost can make a difference, but it's not usually spectacular, if memory serves me right the best you can get is about 20 to 25% faster on boot-up time.
Anyway you might not want a USB drive sticking out of your computer permanently, especially if it's a notebook!

Just tried using it on my Dell laptop running Vista Ultimate :-( Here's what it says in Event Viewer:

"The device (Samsung Mighty Drive) will not be used for a ReadyBoost cache because it has insufficient write performance: 1643 KB/sec."

I wonder if 7dayshop get their Samsung USB's from a manufacturer who use a different chipset?

A reviewer at 7dayshop also found it slower than rated:

Cheap 4GB stick, claims to read and write at 153X which is aboit 22MB/s. … Cheap 4GB stick, claims to read and write at 153X which is aboit 22MB/s. In reality it writes at 4.4 MB/s and reads 13 MB/s.7dayshop.com reply: We have tested 1 of these Key Drives today in 3 machines in our office, and can confirm it seems as if the computer used has just as much affect on the speed of the keydrive as we had speeds ranging from 16-21MB/sec..
