Crrrrrickey! Brrrrrr!! It's got cold in here .... no comments though. Why so cold? I couldn't find it anywhere near that price anywhere else ...... ah well.

thats a good price for a 50 incher. but it is 720p, not 1080p.
On a set this big, the higher resolution would be more welcome, but at this price would have to think again.
Also need to consider your viewing distance, and the source material. Normal TV won't cut it. Need a HD source like Sky HD, HD Gaming or BluRay.
I voted Hot - As even at 720p its a good price....

...ready for the haters.

Maybe its voted so cold because its only 720p instead of the more common 1080 now.

Not voted either way, but if it was 1080 i'd have snapped it up!

you guys are pathetic.

Unless you have a blu ray, PS3 or are using at as a PC Monitor, a 1920x1080 resolution will not improve your standard def pic.
and since the majority of Sky/Virgin HD broadcasts are only in 720/1080i this tv is fine for anyone with normal cable/sky/freeview/dvd

infact its actually fine for blu ray too

its you 1080p snobs out there don't recognise anything else.

Voted hot coz 1080p is not a common standard yet. 720p is fine these days.

what a sh!t deal
#10
Perhaps manbearpig could expand on why it is a sh!t deal?

Thanks for the find Cliftonian. Just ordered - great price for a 50" mid range tv with pretty good reviews. Perfect for what I need and saves me trawling around shops after Xmas. Heat added.

voted hot - cheapest 50 incher Ive seen, and as for the 720p thing, my girlfriends dad actually has a 50" 720p TV and the ps3 looks awesome regardless (and I have a 720p projector and even at 90" ps3 looks great), and as said above standard sky looks crap just as it does on my 32"...

Voted Hot! nice price 720p is fine for most situations
