PS51E530 51" Series 5 Full HD 1080p Plasma TV with Freeview Features:

More than a crystal design - Instead of spray paint, dual injection technology is applied. As a result there are no VOCs in the manufacturing process.
Real Black Panel - The Real Black on your Samsung TV reduces the on-screen glare caused by ambient light, so blacks and shadow details are as crisp and defined as possible.

Clear Image Panel - This Plasma TV uses a new filter and panel structure to eliminate layered images and produce clear images from almost every angle. This also eliminates the production of dual images and blurring typically found with glass.

Sleek and simple design - The new slimmer model creates an absolutely stunning and sleek profile that you need to see to believe.

Agreed Smart TV is useful, but at this price expecting that to be included is asking for way too much IMO.

I use my Sony PS3 for all Smart TV functions, so there are ways to add Smart functionality if desired.

EDIT - Or add a £66 media player like this for Smart functions, http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/western-digital-tv-live-streaming-media-player-amazon-66-09-1265180

The blu-ray player comes with it for free and it has smart.

Wish I had the money at the moment plus free delivery!

Fantastic deal, simply no excuse to upgrade if you've been looking too!

We went to a 50" two years ago on a Currys boxing day sale at the price of £600 just for the telly.

Only 2 HDMI?

I've an older Samsung Plasma model and it has 3 HDMI, I was thinking get this for the 4th HDMI I need and a bit of extra size is never a problem!

seems to be the normal price for the TV but some places charge for the Blu-ray (49.95 here)

With all due respect I must disagree... most retailers are charging £550/600 for the TV alone.

Never dealt with them myself, but they've been trading for years, so you should be ok. Put it this way, if I didn't already own this TV I'd buy from them.

The Sonic price is v good... power direct have been advertising a 499 price for ages now, but always seem to be out of stock. Most retailers are charging £550/600 though.

Yes,

We have used this company... they are fab!!!

pretty good price at first glance, but it's a pretty old model right? no FreeviewHD or 3D and only 2x HDMI which in this day in age is really not enough.

It's actually a new Series 5 budget 2012 model.

well, that's very suprising (not a big samsung tv fan so don't follow their models too closely, sorry about that)

but the other bits I said still stands, obviously 3D won't matter too much to many people, but FreeviewHD is more and more widely available now (obviously you can spend more on a separate set top box or PVR) especially with all the free sports, movies etc now on the terrestrial channels, FVHD really would be great on a big TV like this (I've SkyHD myself, but still would like FVHD just incase when I'm recording 2 HD programs on Sky I can still watch another HD channel on FVHD). But the biggest negative would be only 2x HDMI connections, simply not enough for most people with all the HD gadgets this day in age, so really suprising for a 2012 model (even my 37" Toshiba from 5 years ago had 3xHDMI, but to be fair I did pay top £ for it & it's pretty top of the range at the time, but still...)

I've been on a look out for an upgrade to a TV at around 50", so was a bit interested at this at first, but prefer LED & also want 3D (passive for ease of use) & FVHD & at least 4x HDMI.

I purchased a Panasonic Plasma from RGB Direct 3 or 4 years ago. Service was great.

The picture quality is excellent, but the specs are low... it's a budget TV guys,.

If you find a 51" 3D Smart Plasma Full HD TV with Freeview HD and 4 or more HDMi sockets, which comes with a free blu-ray player for the same price, do let us know.

Should only 2 HDMI sockets stop you buying this panel?

It would'nt me when you can buy splitters on Amazon for under £10, turning 1 HDMI into 3, thereby giving you 4!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Port-1080p-switch-Splitter-Pigtail/dp/B003TKKSIC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1342387212&sr=8-2

My biggest concern would be not being freeview HD. For a telly of this size its a must have, but if you have or are thinking of getting a Freeview/Freestat PVR or have Sky (an expensive way of watching HD), then this may not be of an issue anyway.

The way things are going in my opinion in a years time Freeview HD will become the standard, but as ever its a case of when to buy as there will always be something new.....

Tempting.......

Can't comment on their delivery, but I've been to both shops as I bought my TV and Blu-ray from them last year.

I hate deals like this.

I have a 46" sharp thats lasted 4 years on a 5 year warranty, has everything this has apart from the size. Still tempted.

Nice, would have got this but went for the 50" lg 3d plasma deal before, changed from 46" led Toshiba, can't believe how much better plasmas are for picture quality- consume more power though but think its worth the extra

poor spec imo, 2 x hdmi and no freeview HD, is deal breaker, most tv's over 40 these days come with 3 or more hdmi.

Do you really sit there, in front of your 46" tv saying; "you know, I could really do with another 5 inches..." ?... :p
