A lot more would get sold that way.

Probably. But for me, I'd purchase this through my business and take the cashback into my personal account, so effectively a better deal.
Good for a desktop + faster speeds in raid.
But will take up 2 sata slots and not an option for a laptop.
Which would be utterly pointless if you have one of the majority of laptops, which only have one drive bay...and you want to keep your optical disk drive inside your computer.

This is a desktop kit?
What a pointless comment, of course they will come down in price.
You just have to wait 10 years and SSDs will be obsolete and you can probably find a 512GB one in the dump for free while losers now are paying £337!

But it may be within the next few months. They have halved in price in the previous few months as supply has improved. I am not sure how far the price will fall but, unless you need one right now, I would hold of buying until we hit a plateau. The fact that a large percentage of the hottest deals in the computing section of this websites are for SSDs demonstrate the downward trend.
I am glad that the price is becoming more reasonable. I was not prepared to replace a 512GB standard drive with a 64GB just because of speed.

Damn, I didn't know desktops had their own special type of SSD. I always thought the only difference was a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter (which you don't even need to use), maybe I've been wrong all this time, who knows...

Well said davestavros!!
You said what I was trying to say, but more eloquently ;o)
I also apologise to weiran, it wasn't meant to be a "pointless comment".

Ignorant much?
I bought the 256GB and debating on sending it back ,but im actually using it now so i dont think they would except it back . would love the 512GB .

How nice of you to spend the time to educate him then. I'm sure the comment was very helpful. It's so nice when there aren't morons filling forums with childish "douche" comments, i'm glad you spent the time to fully display the extent of your intellect.
The only difference between laptop and desktop kits (in general but specifically here too) is thus:
Desktop kit: Includes a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter.
"Laptop kit" can mean various things, in the case of these it was a USB adapter and imaging software so you could move your stuff across.
If it doesn't say anything it's probably just the bare drive.
In any case above they fit happily in both PC's and desktops without issue, it's just the extras that make it more desktop/laptop flavoured.
