Perfect for Orange San Fransisco if you were lucky and got one cheap in the recent orange deal especially if you plan to unbrick it because then you can run apps from the sdhc card instead of just from the pathetic 150mb internal memory so having a fast card is a MUST, this is currently the fastest cheapest card i could find from a reputable seller + free delivery
Fast 6Mb/s speeds
-10 Year Warranty
-Waterproof - Innovative epoxy moulding compound tech helps over 24 hours in sea water
-Shock proof - Survives high pressure, including the crush of a 1.6ton automobile
-Magnet-proof - Resists over 13 times the magnetic force of home theater speakers
-X-ray proof - Do not worry about airport scanners damaging your data

I bought one a few days ago and its doing great in my san fran

Not as good... idiot...

unless you are transfering files to and from it like a usb drive you wont see ANY difference, it will play back videos and music the same.

The gradeing system in SD is a con.

COld not the cheapest brand by miles.

Harshly put, but true enough. Don't put too much reliance on class, folks. Many class 4s are consistently faster than class 6s.

A Class 4 is more than capable of A2SD. Class 6 and above is only really needed for Data2ext which isn't ported to the San Francisco anyway.

Stick with class4 and you can get a 16Gb for only a fiver more than this.

I agree, calm down. It is the season to be jolly after all. Merry Christmas all.

Used for shooting video or continous shoting with a DSLR class 6 should offer an advantage over a class 2 or 4. However, look out for actual test results as these don't always reflect the class rating.

Also for SD cards there are also Class 10 cards available, however I'm not sure if that's true of microSD yet.

Just a heads up with normal post, I've been receiving letters and recorded deliveries but still haven't received this.

I ordered mines on the 6th Dec and was estimated to arrive on the 8th, I'll wait until Monday then give them a call.

I think you mean "jailbreak" the phone, not "unbrick" it. Unbricking is only needed if you brick it with a jailbreak gone wrong.

Wow. Angry.
These are great for the MD80 type camcorders, where the speed IS needed.

technically on android the term is 'rooting' however i like unbricking as imo out of the box some smartphones might as well be...

Class war!

The HTC desire requires a class 4-6 to shoot 720p video without stutter, the 4gb samsung card it came bundled with is only class 2 and not up to the job so there is certainly a diference in the classes.
#15
Guyz : appreciate the discussion re Class 4v6 & smartphones - decided to plump for the 16GB Play.com 5yr Class 4 at £15.99 instead (will have to return the Amazon one as already prep'ing for despatch).

Have this exact card in my htc wildfire, ok maybe don't need this class 6 in it, but better to have this and not need the speed than to get a slower card and find out you need faster for shooting video etc :)
#17
Great price for class 6. Don't compare the price of this to lesser specs.

I am using a Desire with a class 2 16gb PNY card and get no stutter.Classes are misleading somewhat as allot of decent cards write faster than their specification anyway.
#19
OK What is the best value 8gb class 4 sd card out there at the minute then?
#20
Good quality card. I run the Desire HD ROM on a HD2 from one of these flawlessly. Many people have lots of issues with Class 4 cards at XDA.

its kinda obvious he means the HTC Desire HD as the standard one dosent have hd camera

its also better to have faster card if you like watch to movies etc on your phone,

i prefer samsung card purely because they have been are leading and prolific semiconductor memory manufacturer in computing circles, its just peace of mind that it should be less likely to go wrong.

The Desire camera was upgraded to 720p recording in the 2.2. Froyo release....

HTC haven't updated their site because the CDMA Desire variant hasn't received an official 2.2 upgrade yet but install any 2.2 Rom and the desire will record in 720p.
