As title suggests, player is 199.99 on its own but the link takes you directly to the offer page.

Player on it's own was voted cold, but hopefully the films will help a little....

Hope this helps some peeps.

Not sure when this expires.....

Cheers all. Jin.

Personally, I think you get so much better value with the PS3 and with regular updates via the internet, it will ensure it will remain compatible with the latest blu rays. Had my ps3 for about a year now and love it, even though I'm not really an avid gamer!

Think a lot of people will probably have the same idea. Personally I have a 360, so this would be a better fit for me.

If you have a 360 then wait a few month, I am sure Microsoft will do a Blu-Ray addon (like the HD DVD one) very very soon.

Thats probably true, but i'm not sure I could cope with the additional noise ;)

The baby stirs every time the the XBOX 'F-14 Tomcat' 360 takes off. Heaven help me if I try to play a game. lol.

I wouldn't hold your breath, M$ would have to fork out millions for a licence to $ony, the whole time laughing in their faces.

I think you will have to wait for the dust to settle before M$ will eat their own hat and succomb to $ony

I've seen reports suggesting that they (MS) have been in talks with Sony for ages about blu-ray. I don't think we'll have to wait long... timed for Christmas, I would think.

As for the licence, I suspect there are several pieces of legislation, along the fair trade line, that protect Microsoft against flagrant abuse of monopoly by Sony in licensing blu-ray for the xbox. They will have to licence production of the blu-ray device in the same way as they would for anybody, not just for MS.

yeah - but this didnt stop Pioneer doing that with DVD-RW technology in 1997 / 1998 - which was licensed to Mac's for a whole year before the PC market could be touched.. (and Panasonic's DVDRam doesnt count)..

Buy a ps3!

as somebody who has owned a PS3 for over a year I can still see the benefit in this deal, and for those waiting for a 360 blu-ray add on, you may as well forget it. Microsoft are more interested in digital downloads and considering the ****** uptake they had for the HD-DVD add on (around 3% take up) its unlikely that they will be considering it any time soon.

This player also has an ethernet port for firmware updates.

so if you already have a 360 (which plays games a hell of a lot better than the PS3) then this is a way better purchase than buying another console.
