While this is probably the lowest price so far, I'm still incline to buy until they reach the £80 mark.

You can kinda beat that....

How about if they were £46.66? And then you got short term memory loss, and paid again the next month... and then the next month.... and then remembered to stop paying and were thrilled with the fact that you'd gotten such a machine for £46.66 last month...

They do that wonderful cdiscount trick of letting you pay over 3 months by pre-authorising your credit card for the full amount, but not billing you the full amount immediately.

Takes the bite out of a good gadget purchase... Just bought a Samsung 24inch LCD that way...

Good deal - actually the same price as Richer Sounds.

lol I don't have short term memory loss fortunately.

Good that they have a 3 installments thing. But price is still too high for me.

And a couple of other places too (but no quidco). Makes me wonder if Samsung have a new model coming out soon? Hmm...

I agree. Although the 3 installments option is a useful option, I still refuse to fork out so much for a player that is blatently going to drop to around the £60-£80 mark soon.

I mean, is it not in the best interest of companies like Sony (who have a large slices of movie production pie) to make sure as many people as possible have a player, so they can then in turn spend all their cash on Blu-ray movies? At £140 upward for a decent player it's still just not tempting enough, even though I have a full HD TV sitting there ready!

As with anything in technology people who buys new stuff will always pay a big price for the enjoyment.

If you can live without the latest tech for a while then it will come down to a much more reasonable price level,
also the technology with be better than the first release.

I too have an HD tv since last summer, will wait until £80 or below.
