Wouldn't touch with a barge pole, I know several people who regreted buying samsung blu ray player and they found that the after care from Samsung was appauling. I know some people in the retail sector also who try to steer customers away from this manufacturer because they're nothing but hassle.

DVD region hack here... http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-bd-p1600/10179

Also about half way down there may be a way to hack the Blu Ray side to by flashing to another country firmware...

Am I missing something, but isnt it worth pay an additional £85 and getting a PS3 that will cover blu ray duties and give you access to iPlayer etc (as well as games). Yes I know its more money, but the PS3 resale value will also be higher when you come to upgrading....
