Plenty of them floating around in the South East, by the way. I think this is the first time I've actually had a choice of stores on a .97 DSG deal.

FYI chaps, as far as I can tell this is the Dixons/Currys/PCWorld 'exclusive' version of the BD-P1600, so if you're struggling to find reviews or info, try googling that instead.

Incidentally it's up on Amazon for £89 at the minute with what could be described as 'mixed reviews'... For £70 I reckon it's worth a punt, though. I'd be more cautious if I was buying online, but Currys tend to be fairly good at replacing things when they go wrong. In my experience, anyway.

As far as I'm aware it will, provided you've formatted it to FAT32 (so no files over 4GB).

I've been looking through various reviews and most seem to look good..

only issue is with the front cover having to be down if you have a USB in.. and the fact it doesnt have the [email protected] service like newer blu-ray players.

seems to get 8/10 on most sites.

Ahh, well I've just picked one up and it actually has the ability to browse YouTube. But that's it, basically. And it's not YouTube in HD, may I add - I'm currently watching a BBC Life video that I KNOW is HD, and this very much isn't. And it's not what you'd call smooth - the video its self is a bit jerky, though the audio is fine.

EDIT

And mine won't do 4OD videos on YouTube. I favourited Location Location Location to test it and it refuses to show more than a description. Although I've now discovered that most videos actually play pretty smoothly. Just not in anything near HD.

Oh and final thought of the day, it seems to modulate audio volume when it pleases. If it thinks something's too loud, it turns down the volume of the next 5 seconds or so of audio by its self. Did it when I was watching Up! on Blu Ray, and it's just done it on a YouTube video.

FINAL EDIT

Had a play around with the audio settings and it seems to have stopped doing it. A bit. The biggest culprit at the minute remains one of The Corrs' songs. Serves me right for having such tastes I suppose...
