Yes it will be locked. With tesco mobile they will unlock the phone for free after 3 months as long as you've put £25 credit on it. As this already includes £10 you'd only be adding £15. IMHO better than paying £10 to unlock as if you get tesco to unlock you have no issues with warranty. If you are desperate to use straight away there was a deal posted the other day for a sim adaptor from deal extreme.

Most handsets are locked to a network. I've read on this site that some carphone warehouse and e2save phones come unlocked

If you buy a pay as u go mobile from a shop such as Tesco , orange shop , T Mobile shop etc they will always be locked to that network as they sub the cost of the phone , recouping it through airtime .

Best punt for an unlocked phone is through an internet retailer selling the same model on a number of networks , especially clearance models, cjances are they will be unlocked so they can just put in whatever sim you want . Had a few from E2save , Phones4u , these are best for unlocked ones though i have had the odd one locked even from these.

Well I disagree. From what I have read, and have been told from phones4u (instore). That some models are unlocked. So hence why I ask.

It seems like there'll be an (instore) offer starting on Monday which sees this and other phones attracting 1,000 clubcard points instead of the free credit. Of course the prices may differ.

1,000 clubcard points is £10 worth in store, but £40 in deals so may be better.
