Instore at Tesco Extra in Cardiff. They had 2 on the shelf as you walk in. Didn't buy one myself, but not bad discount even for the toner. Model number was CLP-315

We bought one not so long ago! i think they print well, and the toners arent that much really ! i bought 2 black 1500page toners for £40! print creyscale when you dont need colour and youre onto a winner :)

Where did you get your toners from?

Does it use the same toner as the CLP 300 ?

Its the toners you have to worry about.

Expensive to run and not great print quality either. I ended up selling mine on a popular auction site for spares!

Had mine well over 18 months. Had a problem with a sensor that I repaired myself and other than that it's been fantastic. Don't do much colour printing but the black toner lasted for ages, a replacement cost c. £27.

Toners may appear expensive, but when you consider the yield is 2500 pages, compared to the yield, of a inkjet, you are getting very similar print costs, and actually often cheaper and more efficient printing with the laser.

Can seem daunting to fork out so much for a cartridge tho !

I agree, I also often find ink cartridges dry up if you don't use them, so you end up getting no where near as many prints as you should anyway!

I have CLP-320 now, and its blooming marvellous

The CLP-315 like the CLP-310 is expensive to run. Great printer, good quality but costs a fortune.
Have a look at the Dell 1320, its a bigger machine, costs twice as much but is much more economical. (See past HOTUKDEALS posts about it) I got rid of my CLP-310 and replaced it with the Dell.

Another thing to worry about on inkjets is that the cleaning cycle usually uses ink, so you don't usually get as much as the quoted number of sheets printed per cartridge anyway, unless you use it all in one go!

On the whole, larger more expensive laser printers are more economic with the toner. It's often the same with inkjets. If you get a small cheap unit you don't get much in the cartridges, but they still charge you the same as on the bigger, more expensive models.
