the chrome version of this model is so much better looking than the boring black imo...but this is a super mobile and at this price is a good buy.
heat added...good find op.
#2

Any idea how this can be done?

No idea if you should switch off the phone to select SIMs or not.
#9
Is it locked? If yes is it possible to unlock it? How much would it cost to unlock it?

So which is better, D900i or J700i?

"128 x 160 pixels" about the J700i? What is the res on the D900i?
#14
It is free to unlock it.

Having compared the two on the Samsung website, I would strongly recommend the D900, which is what I have gone for.

Key reasons being the D900 is cheaper, smaller and lighter, has a better camera (3MP vs 1.3 MP), better display, has quad band.... goes on.

Go to this link below and select the phones to compare completely.

Loved the phone when I had it, it’s a bargain at £50>.
Video quality is superior to its Sony rival (k800i).
Only downside is the battery.
#17
Read too many reviews that the battery life sucks and the internal screen cracks too easily as the phone is so thin!!!! voted cold things are cheap for a reason!!!!!!!

good deal if they honour it....

3% quidco i think

screen cracking was an issue with D900, which Samsung fixed in D900i IMO

This is a superb phone and for this price is excellent.

Doesn't this involve some butchery of your SIM?

I'm sure some tech-type has made a video along with inappropriate hard house music and put it on youtube... Might be woth a look and an unplugging of PC speakers for a moment! :whistling:

Tesco web site says free delivery on all mobile phones but at the checkout there are only 2 options: Delivery charge:£4.85 (Standard next day delivery) or Delivery charge: Free
(Collect from store). How to get free delivery?

Could it be specific to a provider perhaps?!?
#26
I read in reviews that it has problem with its battery life. Is it correct?
#27
Had a D900i for over 14 month. Great phone, no problem with screen, battery life good, ok maybe dont expect 5 days on standby. But it's fine. Camera really good quality for 3.2 mp. This camera is actually better than my 5mp on the samsung tocco. For under 50 quid a bargin.
#28
ive ordered one, read reviews about battery life not being great but there are larger capacity ones on ebay for about £4 if does turn out to be battery hog

Thats only the code for to change the NCK password, you need to do the reset codes first,it takes a few codes to unlock it
#30
This is the codes to unlock it

BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE UNLOCKING
This will also bring the phone to default settings

1. First do a CUSTOM reset: *2767*2878# (star 2767 star 2878 hash)
turn off the phone
2. take out the battery and sim and put wrong network SIM and insert a HALF of it,ie half in and half out and slip the battery in behind it,this is important
so it won't ask for network password and shows "Insert SIM" message.
Now put the battery ,and switch the phone on .(phone shows "Insert SIM" message.)
3.With out turning off the phone push the sim fully in. At this stage the phone is still asking to "Insert SIM"
4. Make a FULL reset by typing: *2767*3855#(star 2767 star 3855 hash)
5. The phone should reboot working with "wrong" sim inside.
6. Make a Change the NCK password to 8 zeros by typing: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
(star 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros star 8zeros hash)
7. Now Disable network lock By typing: #7465625*638*00000000#
(hash 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros hash

If it is the Ultra version not sure if it can be unlocked? The standard D900i's can easily be unlocked by clip but the clip doesnt do the Ultra which is what this deal is. Whether or not "grabbit" way of doing it will work on a D900i Ultra and is it a pernament unlock or tempoary like the E900 use to be?

......... how do you know these are ultra's?
#33
Ultra Edition can be unlocked, however it won't work with the standard D900i unlock codes or the original d900i clips mentioned in here, unlocking hardware will do this easily.

I ordered this phone from Tesco and when it was delivered it was the Ultra Edition which was useless to me as I need it for 02 - if it was that standard I could have used my clip.

The method works fine. I have used it.
But no one takes responsibility for any damage of your phone.
#39
But does it work on the Ultra edition?
#40
Buy an i-smart sim from dealextreme for £3.50, will unlock any phone.
