Top of page 3 is the unlock codes for this phone, assuming they're the same

the other post:
BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE UNLOCKING
This will also bring the phone to default settings

1. First do a CUSTOM reset: *2767*2878# (star 2767 star 2878 hash)
turn off the phone
2. take out the battery and sim and put wrong network SIM and insert a HALF of it,ie half in and half out and slip the battery in behind it,this is important
so it won't ask for network password and shows "Insert SIM" message.
Now put the battery ,and switch the phone on .(phone shows "Insert SIM" message.)
3.With out turning off the phone push the sim fully in. At this stage the phone is still asking to "Insert SIM"
4. Make a FULL reset by typing: *2767*3855#(star 2767 star 3855 hash)
5. The phone should reboot working with "wrong" sim inside.
6. Make a Change the NCK password to 8 zeros by typing: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
(star 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros star 8zeros hash)
7. Now Disable network lock By typing: #7465625*638*00000000#
(hash 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros hash

I've had my D900 for a year now. One of the best phones I have had. Its relatively simple to use, small, and can last a good while between charges. Not feature-heavy, but its great if you are after a basic phone with a decent camera.

is this the samsung one thats "dual-sim" ?
#9
great phone. only thing i dont like about it is that you cant lock the phone (where you have to enter a code) before making calls. you can lock the phone book, text messages etc but not out going calls so a pain if you lose the phone.

Ive got a D900 (found it on a bus, traced owner through sim contacts who told me to keep it as he was only visiting area and couldnt be bothered arranging for me to return it!) been a good reliable phone even after being dropped in a tin of emulsion whilst decorating, needed a new chassis and fascia after though and not the easiest of phones to reassemble! Battery life adequate as I always charge my phones every night, had a few other phones too during this period but keep going back to this one.

My question is though what differences are there between the D900 and the D900i?

Fantastic phone I have had mine for about 4 months ..i cant fault it

Before you buy, try typing 'samsung d900i cracked screen' in Google.
Samsung don't acknowledge that their phones are fragile.
They won't get another penney from me.:x

The 'i' signifies international. It's the same phone as the 'i' is often dropped as it only refers to which languages the firmware has loaded into it .

Shocking reception on these phones. I have it on 02 and it used to get no reception at all, only allow emergency calls, in most places but my girlfriends SE on 02 would have full bars. Apart from that its a nice phone but I would never get one again!

THE D900i HAS AN FM RADIO... THE D900 DOES NOT...THAT'S THE 'i'

ALSO THERE IS NOTHING FRAGILE ABOUT THIS FONE...WHY ANY PERSON WITH HALF A BRAIN WOULD PUT A MOBILE IN THEIR POCKET...SO THEY CAN THEN SIT ON IT AND PUT THE BLAME ON SAMSUNG...EFFIN IDIOTS !

My D900i lcd screen cracked after a month, (it was just in my pocket). It cost about £40 to repair from CPW.

The D900i is the newer version of the D900. But samsung didn't bother to increase the screen cover thickness.

The only other thing i don't like is the poor battery life.
But everything else is fine (the radio works well).

I don't recommend this phone, the samsung U600 would be the better made phone

ps: i didn't sit on my phone. If you lightly push on the screen you can see the colours on the LCD distort, if you try this with any other phone it will not, because the 'lens' cover is thick enough to prevent this.and therefore damage.

Got this the other day, seems to be an OK replacement phone, but I'm finding navigation a pain in the ar$e after owning Sony's for the past 6 years.

Heat and Rep left

A little harsh I'd say...

A mobile - by it's nature - is to be used out and about and unless you want to carry it in your hand all day and night it's going in a pocket. No matter how hard you try, you always seem to end up with half a dozen 2p's, an elastic band and a bunch of conkers (or is that just me:roll:) in there as well.

MOBILE phone should be able to handle a bit of a pounding and although many samsung owners get away with it, it does seem that samsungs are the ones that crack more often!

samsung d500 etc never had that many screen complaints, if you make a phone extra thin then you will suffer.

nokia forgot to put screen protector on orignal N95, but N95 black 8gb model has quite a good screen protector.

samsungs flip phones were better they lasted longer.
