WOW this is gonna be a hot one

I know this may be a stupid question, but is this a decent camera? Seems a bargain if it is :)

Check this thread for more info :)

Hiya

I got a similar samsung camera but the spec was not quite as high. AA batteries run out after one family event when I'm taking photos. There also seems to be a large delay from taking the shot to the picture being taken so I miss action shots.

Just a word of warning as I had really high hopes for mine when I got it only to be very disappointed.

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback Lizzie79 :) warm welcome to HUKD !

Which model did you go for?
#7
Thanks. It is the D60 - comet were selling it half price at £80 I think at the time (I got it free with a macbook purchase). The shots are actually great if you capturing a landscape. When taking pictures of my niece though I miss the shot everytime which I never did with my Pentax camera.

At the moment it keeps turning itself off as soon as I switch it on aswell!

Cheers

Ive got one from last time argos reduced the price..excellent picture quality...if your after a decent digital camera dont worry you wont be disapointed..note:BUY RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES normal alkaline dont last very long at all.
Poundland have a good camera bag with shoulder strap in black to match!!!

For rechargeables, check the maH rating. For AA, look for 2500+ maH for long lasting ;-)
#10
yes good advice mattc ive got 2700 mah rating and they last loads longer...actually i got them from argos at the same time with the charger 4 a tenner
#11
Maybe that's why mine seem to run out so fast they are 2300mah - still a couple of hours taking about 30 snaps is poor for the batteries to run out.
#12
2300 seems pretty ok to me.

Try some 2700 though if you can get them! Any higher is a bargain.

In my MP3 player I used to get 5 hours with duracell batteries. Getting 800 maH rechargeable [Bear in mind AAA these were] i got about 12 hours! Right now on ledshoppe.com they have 1000 maH AAA batteries for cheap, but they also look pretty cheap lol :p

If anyone's picking this up tomorrow - scroll down the argos page and you can get the accessory kit worth £50 free...

Thanks for the advice MattC

I got this when the sale started on Thursday, very nice camera, although some pics I taken are blurry unless with the flash on. But probally due to my shaky hands. Very good for the price tho!

I agree! I got this for free with my Apple Mac.... Expected more, and it feels very cheap too! Very light a plastic build. The picture quality isnt that bad, but as said, the battery problem is a big thing. Unless you use rechargeable (good) batteries, your gonna be spending a pocket in the long run.

Is this a better camera than the cannon A630, looks like a cracking deal with the free aaccessory kit on top :?

Typical, trust me to look for a new camera 2 days after you get a free £50 pack with it! So is this any good? Looking to replace my retro 3.2 mpxl camera for my hols! :-D
#28
Not sure.. I've bought it as a present so time will tell. It looks good though, I'm sure it's more than adequate for a novice!
