Do you have to switch between the SIM cards, or do both receive signals at the same time? So if I was on a call with one SIM, could I receive a second call on the other? Or would I have to 'flick a switch' to activate one or the other?

I think it is the newer "active" dual sim phone so there wont be any need to reboot the phone to switch sim cards. Im guessing it can receive calls simultaneously.

why more latest smart phones don't allow multiple sims is a mystery to me. Especially when it's a fantastic feature and selling point.

Thanks

Shame you can't have both active at the same time. This phone is more of a convenience than actual functionality.

And exactly how many smartphones can you buy that cost £25?? Some people just want a phone to make and receive calls without all the bells and whistles and dont want to pay daft amounts just to have the latest gadget.

I have the Samsung C6112 dual SIM card phone. No need to switch something except when you want to decide from which SIM card you want to make a phone call (like I have 1 UK and 1 foreign SIM card and switching cards can save me money depending whom I want to call). but you can receive calls and text messages without switching to the other card, won't miss anything!

There is a Samsung dual sim smartphone coming - not sure when it will be available in the UK yet and not costs either - just a heads up.

For dual SIM system, two SIM are pinned on Samsung GT-E1182 can be active together, so you can receive incoming calls for two at any time without hassle. Only for outgoing communications, you must determine which SIM is used by holding down (#) button. In addition to dual SIM feature, Samsung GT-E1182 is also equipped with FM radio, Luxor Quest game, memo, task, world clock, calculator, converter, timer, stopwatch, and torch light.

Motorola sells andriod 2.3 dual sim phones in india.

Dual sim ( or even with 3 or 4 active sims) are predominant in India/China.

You can get the one with the keyboard (Samsung B5510 Galaxy Y Pro Sim Free Smartphone)from amazon UK for about £130. It looks pretty good. And cos I'd be using it for a business and need tinternet and email it'll do the job very well.
