I also found this for £29.99 almost 2 months ago (was looking for one when i moved into my flat on 10th June). They had none in stock online at the time, but I got one off ebay for a similar price.

Thanks majorly. I've had this DVD upscaler for many months now but never realised I could region-hack it. I've got some really good collector's editions of Region 1 DVDs but never been able to play them. So I really do want to thank you. I've "liked" your comment in the hope it will give you rep, I'll try and give positive feedback in your profile too. Thanks. :D

Made my day that - and it's my birthday today! :D

Hello TGHunter
Many Many happy returns of the day..
Knowing that you have this player for months .. what is your recommendation? shall i go for it?
#15
I have this, paid about 60 quid for it. Its well worth it for 30 quid.

Mostly use it for DIVX, but can't say I've ever noticed it being upscaled on a DVD.
I use the samsung remote from my TV to control it, the original remote is pretty small. The only annoying thing about using the TV remote is you lose functions, ie: I can't fast forward, the FF button only skips scenes, so I have to manually select the time to move it along.

Good though. Hot from me.

I've not used it for DivX like others have although everyone's saying it's a great feature, I just might have to give it a go.

As far as upscaling DVDs, it's hit and miss, some DVDs just look the same while some really do look crisper and clearer. I was watching my Sopranos boxset and definitely noticed a nice difference. You really can't go wrong for £30, not only is it a good DVD player which can be hacked to be multi-region with a few simple button presses, it upscales quite nicely at times too, and hey, it looks nice. :D

Oh and thanks for the happy wishes. :)

Great deal - got the white version a few months back from Costco for about £45. Multi region hack worked 1st time for me (and I posted the hack on dvd.reviewer after I found it had worked http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forum176/type1/thread801854/Samsung_DVDH1080/page1). H&R added

Does anybody know of any free delivery codes for Sainsburys?

I don't have any stores nearby that offer the reserve and collect service. Would be great to pick up one of these as a Christmas present for someone.

Perhaps you need to hold down the skip button for FFWD? At leas this is how it is on my remote.

Nah tried that aswell. I should dig out the original remote.
