At Tesco in-store SEL states £7.48,which is cheap as it is,possibly a misprice? but... phone scans at £12.48,making an overcharge of £5 so a potential of £10 DTD refund bringing the cost down to £2.48

Saw this in 2 different Tesco stores so assuming other stores are going to have the same SEL's

It is on t-mobile but can be unlocked temporarily using codes

The OP is saying about the double the difference thing if you were overcharged at the till, NOT the pricecheck thing that they've now stopped doing. Good find OP

Thats a different promotion they were running, they still give DTD for overcharges.

How in the world do you Hukd'ers come up with tricks like these? lol. I would never be able to think up something like that, not even in my wildest dreams.
#7
its not a trick, you find things like that by chance. if shelf label says 2.00 pound for an item and you get charged 2.10 tesco cs will refund 20p.
#8
They do it to make you think they are always right, who in their right minds would do it if they had lots of misprices?

In reality they do overcharge sometimes, and they use the DTD offer to get shoppers to highlight it for them. It will be fixed soon, I'll have a look at lunchtime though!

Heat added. I'll check the Reading store tomorrow to see if they have this but I have added heat anyway.

Do you have to claim DTD or does it come up at the till automatically? I assume you have to ask for it by pointing out the price on the shelf?

Yes you pay the full price and then go customer services and complain the shelf edge label has a diff lower price. Note though that not all stores offer dtd. I may pop in tomorrow before work......

Sounds a bit complicated as the store may refuse the DTD.

Has anyone got this phone as I would like to know if I can answer the phone by just opening the flap and end the call when I close the flap without having to touch answer button and end call button?

£7.48 is cheap for the phone anyhow even if you didn't manage to get double the difference

It's much dearer on their website

I would imagine it's expired now anyhow as I'm sure Tesco's have fixed it

You can get this from T-Mobile for £9.99

I asked T-Mobile if I could swap one of the fancy phone they offer on their monthly contract for this, say a Samsung Monte of a Nokia C5 for this. They said no! They said I can't give up a more expensive phone for this cheap one. How stupid is that?

Tesco sold this phone for £12.48 in a recent post on this forum. They must have reduced the price and not updated the price on their till system.

T-Mobile is having a 20% off all pay as you go phones tomorrow (Tuesday) so this will be available at £8 tomorrow at T-Mobile

Local Tesco deal is £12.48 or £7.48 when you top up £10 !! So unless CSA misread the notice (Very unlikely) you wouldn't receive DTD

It isn't,that offer is off now instore,

they have now corrected the shelf labels and the deal is now expired, when the offer was on the SEL stated it would be £7.48 when £10 top up was purchased, the label quoted £12.48 otherwise

When the misprice was made the SEL just stated £7.48...no conditions,so DTD was valid
