Great spec

whatsThePoint
which specs are impressive for a bridge camera?

well, 26x zoom is really good.

and if you look at a NIKON L310 the zoom on that is 21x and its being sold at £175 at argos.

so a samsung with 26x zoom is a bargain for this, dont you think

also the 1080p HD recording is impressive too

it says 1280 x 720 recording, what does that mean

your the one trolling, i was just pointing out the spec isn't impressive, you can get the same spec from the fuji outlet from around £100 so its common spec at best

did he say your name, so this means you know you are trolling lmao..

fujifilms are entry levels and arent that good..

you clearly know nothing about cameras so i'll leave you to buy your different colour so different spec camera from argos X)

no nikons and samsungs are better than fujifilms i have asked a pro. all bridge cameras arent entry level. you can get some basic basic bridge cameras and thats what fujis are.

The downside to a big zoom is the camera shake which tends to get magnified too so really need to shoot at high shutter speeds which means plenty of light unless there is a good image stabilisation system built in.

The ppl complaining about this camera "only" having a 26x zoom obviously ingnoring the fact that the zoom starts at 22.5mm (nikon 25mm). This makes an enormous difference on the wide angle side. This model is new and there is no reviews/feedback I could find. Judging by Samsungs past performance, this will be average image quality and probably well suited for holiday snaps but not for competition images. Size would be a problem for me though, because it's much bigger than a WB700.

BTW, whatsThePoint, do you understand how modern marketing works? You should not rely on those "Best Buy" charts.

The L120 on offer @ Argos will be the L310

Wouldn't touch this with a barge pole until someone does a proper review of it with multiple sample pics in varying conditions showing what that 16mp sensor is capable of (not much i'm guessing).

It was only announced last month (http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/29/samsung-brings-out-wb100-camera-with-26x-lens/) and does 720p, not 1080p. As someone previously said, this is a budget compact with a big zoom.

I got the S2950 from ASDA for £90.... still haven't fully figured out how to use it :D. hope it's worth it

Hot hot hot. This is a steal for a bridge camera; I got a bog-standard point-and-shoot for this kinda price not long ago.

Only thing putting me off is the bright red chasis.

As someone previously said, this is a budget compact with a big zoom.
The lens isn't that small; I expect it'd have much better optics than a budget compact.

Someone got this camera as an unwanted gift but in black, and they put it on sale for £140. So I decided to buy it after some haggling and got it for £85 with a free 2GB memory card. I’ve even got the box and receipt (bought from Argos)

I’ve took some test photos and they are really good, I might do a review on YouTube with test videos.

The bad points are that the colours and quality of image is quite grainy and washed indoors without flash. But maybe that’s because I don’t know how to tweak the settings

Is this normal with all cameras? If you take photos indoors without flash?
Also I was thinking of going back to Argos and see if they can swap it for the red one, with 1080p. Is this allowed?
Anyway this is a picture of a random cat I found on the streets lol. It was actually quite reluctant to come near the camera for the picture

http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/534/sam0031l.jpg

So do you think it was worth it for the price I paid?

Are you for real? Do you truly believe Samsung have released an Argos exclusive model in red only that shoots 1080p; whilst every other colour and every other outlet only shoot 720p?

Argos do have exclusive models, sometimes with good extra features - but I've never seen them use the same model number.
I've added a note to the post details - feel free to delete it or correct your title and post as you see fit :)

you take an awful pic of a cat by zooming in far to close and cutting the top of its head off and paws, do you really think your in a position to judge anything to do with photography X)

Could we leave out personal attacks please?

How would you know the OP hasn't cropped the picture to show more detail - in my view the camera has dealt quite well with this shot; better than my Panasonic FZ38 would.

cropped to look like that oO
impossible to judge which would take a better pic without comparing a pic taken by both at the same time

Stop being so crass.

I agree you can't properly judge without a side-by-side comparison; but I've taken dozens of pictures of animals with my FZ38 so feel justified in my comment.

I'm looking for a new camera, not too fussed about photo quality as I'm hardly an expert. I do want it to take good videos though as we're having a baby soon.
