Im confused, Your all referring to the TV been a Smart TV because it has 'Netflix' and 'BBC iPlayer' and such,

Have i been ripped off with my iPhone 5S? The guy in the shop informed me it was a Smart Phone, but i purely assumed this was because it has a calculator and text prediction?

This is typical of the confusion often experienced by iPhone owners/users.

I second that!

I'd go for far as to call it a reliable TV with great quality picture, especially with an XBOX 360 connected.

The inbuilt netflix/BBC iplayer app kicks out phenomenal quality picture aswell, recommend highly at this price

Try following the 'outlet' link from the comment above. Look to details and it gives all the product identifiers.

Don't know about latest model, but at this price for a Samsung Smart 40", you can't go far wrong. ;)

I'm assuming you mean Ethernet over power. Or powerline, as the rest of the planet calls it.

Thanks.
Netflix, Lovefilm, YouTube, BBC/ITV/STV/4OD/C5 Players etc etc. Samsung TVs are well featured in the 'smart' department.

The EH series was replaced in April by the F series which has the new smart system in it.

does direct lit mean back lit or edge lit?
#26
Yeah great TV, had it for a couple of months now. XBOX is great using it, no noticeable input lag while gaming. Only a 60hz TV though, the 100hz motion rate thing is just marketing jargon.

Ordered this but a bit clueless on how to connect it to the internet. Does anybody knows any recommended cheap and excellent wifi dongle?
#28
reserved one anyway while I look at reviews. pardon my ignorance but what is power line Ethernet?

Not voted but in My opinion don't buy this.... The newer 2013 range of Samsung Smart TV's is much better, I have upgraded my Samsung TV's every year for the past 4 years and this years is amazing, the smart TV layout, speed and overall user friendliness is superb.... It's only another £20-£30 right for the newer models?

OK, I checked and it's more like £80 more for the newer model but still worth it IMO....

Can get the newer model ex display for the same price as this though

Hot but waiting for the Samsung UE42F5000....don't need smart TV rubbish
#37
Bought this a few months ago when our 4 year old Sony 40" started having problems with the screen, this Samsung is far better, picture is FAB!! Love being able to access Netflix, Youtube we paid £429 IMO far better TV than the £800 Sony, we have always been pro Sony but after owning this Samsung for the last few months we would never go back to Sony.

If you are replacing an older 40" as we did just a note that at first this Samsung will feel a little smaller due to the newer TV's having a smaller frame even though the screen size is the same we felt the Sony looked much bigger, if we had known this we may have gone for a larger screen size.

If we need to replace any other tv's in the house it would be Samsung for us definitely.

Have some heat!!

Not really, you can get it on amazon for 389.
I'm just waiting for that specific one to come down in price to around 350 as I have little use for anything outside of a good quality screen.

How does Samsung compare to Panasonic these days?

I've had my LCD Panasonic now for 6+ years and it's still working and compared to some of my families and friends TVs it's still pretty good. Parents have Panasonic TVs and the picture is improved on mine but I find that the Samsung and Sony that my friends have seem a bit artificial... If that makes sense!?

Basically, do the newer alternatives to Panasonic bring reliable good sets to the game?
