Now whilst this is my first post, no need to be be gentle on my account, I'm a big boy and more importantly have a fridge full of beer.

This deal is at Phones4u and is on the £35 (O2 400) tariff on a 12 month contract.
It comes with 7 months free line rental by redemption, meaning a net outlay over the 12 months of £175.

However, once you include the £60 quidco money on offer, the net price for the year comes down to £115 or £9.58 per month.

To pre-empt some of the likely whinges about this deal:-

(i) yes, it's a clearance phone. If you don't like the condition upon arrival, send it back for a full refund.

(ii) yes, it's a cashback deal and they're not for everyone. However, stick to the rules (and more importantly clarify the rules on receipt of your phone) and you won't have a problem unless the firm go under (and I would wager that Phones4u are low risk in this regard)

(iii) no, it's not an iphone 3g - however it's a more than passable imitation and just a little cheaper along the way.

I've just ordered one of these for the wife, thought I would share in case this interests anyone else either.

Regards Pete

Was looking at this deal yesterday but i need to port my number from Vodafone which cant be done online apparently.

Does anyone know if i can call o2 after i have got the phone and then get my number ported over?

Hot from me as its a fantastic deal.

N20Y1D, be careful re porting your number over with O2 directly upon receipt of the phone.

I looked into this yesterday myself and came across some comments suggesting that Phones4u won't honour cashback claims where the mobile number has changed.

Cheers for the warning i'll give them a call and see what they say.

EDIT:

Called them and they cant port number to o2 online so that rules out the cashback and they also told me that i wouldnt be able to port the number over through o2 at a later date.

Hi, I signed for a phones4u 12 month rental with 11 months free deal last year.

Changing your number isn't a problem; there is a bar-code on my bills (Orange) and this is what they use for for cashback purposes. I ported my number with 2 weeks of getting the contact, and moved (so my address changed) but I have still successfully claimed £300 back so far.

The cheque-back team couldn't be more helpful - once i almost missed the deadline for a claim, so i rang them and they got me to fax my bill through and sorted it all out for me. Phones4u make it very easy to claim money back.
