Also available on this tarrif - Sony Ericsson C903 , SE c510 , INQ 1 , 3 skypephone, nokia 6700 and nokia e63 which is discounted further to only £18 per month. You can also have the SE w595 but you dont get the unlimited 3to3 calls.

Dont get me wrong but 3 is such a **** network had 4 different contracts with them and they all had problems - they even over charged me £20 for nothing on two of the phones - i surpose you get what you pay for - good for the price

love the deal. hate the network :S

NETWORK IS GREAT
Why blame the network if you experience problems with your PHONE which 3 DONT actually make.
BLAME THE MANUFACTURERS
NOT 3
the coverage for calls and texts is the same as any other uk network.
the coverage for hsdpa is better than any other network
LONG WAY FOR A NEW NETWORK to come in 7 years!
Appreciate , dont hate.

Been with 3 for 4 years me and my wife just put our youngun on it brilliant never lost a signal and its free 3to3 calls plus free skype ... Love the network

3 is great for its deals etc, but i have moved in 3 different areas since last november (stupid rental places telling me it was long term - avoid northwooduk lol) and ive had rubbish signal everywhere.

Have added heat and rep for the deal tho!
#7
3 works really well for me, heat added!

We've got a similar coverage issue, at home there's Vodafone and thats about it. My Orange phone and my sisters 3 phone don't get any signal. Its not the phones, we've gone through several varied handsets and its been the same.

i am with three on their PAYG with an unbranded unlocked 5800, cant fault them truth be told.
£25 every 3months for unlimited texts, 150mb data and free 3-to-3/skype!

some of my mates have 3 branded handsets and the crap they put on is comparable to orange sadly, for example some 3 branded handsets cant have 3g disabled to save battery life

False,

the networks mostly have their own masts, but do share a few.
3 have the least masts, then they roam onto orange when out of range of their own.
Another rubbish network for coverage.

Vodafone and O2 is the only way to go for reliable countrywide coverage

already with three cant decide whether to get a new contract when mine ends or wait to see what retentions offer me:?

http://www.trustedreviews.com/networking/news/2009/07/10/Ofcom-Slams-O2-3G-Coverage/p1 On the 3g side of things, you'd be suprised of Three's actual coverage.

As for 2g networks, orange being predominately on the 1800mhz gsm range does have some issues in comparison to voda/o2 on the 900mhz range. 900mhz does have better range due to wavelength in itself.

Three always put up such tempting deals then i remind myself of the rubbish service, trouble cancelling contracts, random extra charges which they then apologise for and remove....although i really do have to wonder how many people don't check too carefully and get stung for 20 pounds.
#14
My girlfriend has had 3 for 3 years now and she has never had a single problem with. Coverage is far superior to my t-mobile phone. I would sign up to this in a heart beat if my contract was expired.
#15
I was really tempted by this deal HOWEVER, having done some research I am pretty sure whilst it is a 3g phone there appears to be no software support for Skype calls as "skype lite" has only these samsung brands supported.

Exactly, I keep finding they have the best deals and then have to remind myself how rubbish they were when I was with them. Granted it was 6 years ago now and I'm sure they have come along way. But the whole point of showing a company that you won' put up with bad service is to stay away.

Am tempted with this though :-D

Which phone is best? :?

I've been with 3 for years now and I kept thinking the signal would improve - it hasn't!
Although I've still got 3 months to go on my (plus wife and 2 kids) existing 3 contracts I decided to bite the bullet and went to Vodafone last weekend, although 3 offered very tempting deals to stay with them. But in the end I moved and got the new Vodafone handsets yesterday - what a difference in the signal! I should have moved ages ago and I won't even mind having to pay 3 for the next 3 months - the difference is so great.
I 'phoned a friend and he immediately noticed the difference (he has been slagging the connection on my 3 mobiles since I went to that network - I've had various different brands / models during my time with 3).
3 offer great deals if the network is OK for you - it certainly wasn't for me.

I'm lucky enough to get a great 3 signal at home and work, and never had any problems with them before.

What's to stop me saying getting the Nokia 6700 on this deal and then trading it in on a cashabck website (e.g. Mazuma mobile give back £100). I really like the deal but already have a samsung jet sim-free. Could I just put the 3 SIM in my Jet? I assume I'd lose the benefit of Skype and MSN though!?
#19
Well I'll drop this link in again to help people.
This will give you the locations of the masts near where you are (home/work/friends/family) to help decided which network is best for you.
To keep it simple look out for 'GSM' for calls and 'UMTS' for calls+data (internet) (yes before people start the GSM network does data but not at speeds you would want to use the internet on).
Do take into account that your nearest transmitter may not be the best if its behind a hill etc. One inline of sight that is further away will give better reception.

Is this really unlimited???

Which part - if you mean text I think it is up to a maximum of 3000 as is the 3to3 mins

How fast will the unlimited web be on this tarriff if I was using my iphone with it instead of the tocco ?

No Three-branded handsets can have 3G disabled, because Three (clue: the name) is a 3G-only network and has to use another network for 2G backup which costs it money. If you use a 3 SIM card in a 2G or 3G-disabled phone, Three will disconnect you. It says that quite clearly in the SIM card conditions.

So rather a pointless objection you are making.

I doubt which phone you use will make any difference: the speed will be limited by the network.

If the Jet is a 3G phone and unlocked or locked to Three, you can do just that. If it is compatible with Three's Skype client (which you download) then I wouldn't have thought you would lose Skype either.

Sure, But I meant will the internet on 3uk be as fast as O2's iphone tariff, In other words has anyone used an unlocked iphone on 3uk and had just as good speeds as they did with O2 ?

Ah OK. I guess it's one of these things like coverage where it's very difficult to generalise as it will vary so much with location and time of day.

It's just I have tried my iphone with a virgin sim and the mobile web speeds were poor much slower than O2's mobile web service, and the signal was on a 3G connection, cheers for replying
