Been looking for a good 5 megapixel camera on a cashback deal with a hopefully reputable company, and found / bought this today.

Thought I'd share as it's a cracking deal.

300 mins / 400 texts on Orange who are good for porting. 12 month contract. Phone free. 8 months by redemption, so that means £35 x 4 remaining months = £140. Go through Quidco for £45 cashback. Means a total cost of £95, but all those free mins /texts as well as the phone itself.

The phone is a clearance (or refurb) so it's a bit of a lottery as to the condition, but there's sure to be a cooling off period in case you want to return it if it's in too bad a condition.

Can't find anything too bad on Mobiles2yourdoor as they are a fairly new company.

Hope this deal appeals!

Great Minds think alike !!!

Ive been looking for a deal for quite sometime and must have found this one about half an hour after yourself.

Was about to post on here when I realised that you had beaten me to it !

I think its a fab deal for a 5 megapixel phone and I can't find another offer on the same phone that comes close (well from a reputable dealer anyhow)

Can't wait to get my phone and my cashback has tracked already.

Another good thing about M2YD is that they use Royal Mail Special Delivery, so if you aren't at home you can still collect it from the local depot.

Voted Hot !!!.

P.s. We should keep this thread subscribed to in the future, so that all of us that apply today or in the next couple of weeks remember to claim our cashback (if someone remembers.)

Cheers

Ali

That's what I had in mind when I posted this deal ali, it's good when a few people jump aboard the same deal so that we can all share the cashback experience together.

There's been other M2YD deals before this one so there should be people giving feedback earlier than ourselves and we can see what (if any) tricks they might pull to avoid claims.

Hopefully they should be OK.

I was hovering over the Nokia N95 deal, but it still worked out at a £200 spend after cashbacks, so I reckon this is a much better deal for a 5mp camera phone.

M2YD, seem to be one of the more reputed companies for cashback, I myself have never used them but having read the reviews I am optimistic.

Have you had your order confirmed yet ?

Yep. Got a confirmation straight away. Quidco tracking too, so no problems at all so far.
#6
Sorry, yeah Ive got confirmation of my order, but not of dispatch - have you ?
#7
No note as yet, but the confirmation email says it's subject to a credit check.
#8
thanks looks good has any one found cash back conditions thanks
#9

*Update*

Just received my this morning, some 22 hours after ordering it.

The phone is perfect with no marks or scratches. Accessories include a bluetooth ear piece thing (a nice surprise) among other things .

The only issue or fault I can find is that the boxes weren't sealed, both the one the phone came in and the outer packaging. But it all seems intact so this is a very minor gripe.

All in all a very happy customer. The phone is very stylish and slender and is a steal at this price (I see there was a link on HUKD recently where you could buy this phone new for around £200).

Can't find any documentation on the phone's tariff though - I heard that there's free wap on evenings and weekends for a two month period and was hoping to use it if that's the case...

Hi Joss,

Thanks for letting me know - did you get a confirmation that the phone had been sent ?, I haven't but mobiles2yourdoor, took £1 out of bank account yesterday. Hopefully I will receive mine this morning aswell.

Did yours arrive by Royal Mail Special Delivery, if so then I can hopefuly expect mine about 12 !!!

Incidentally, have you seen the 12mth free line rental deals that they are doing, some very good deals if you ask me. Was considering sending mine back and getting either the Nokia N73, as I could have loaded my sat nav software onto it, but then again we are getting a phone that is the latest model with a 5 megapixel camera on it. What colour is yours ?

Ali

Didn't get any confirmation - it just arrived by Special delivery. It's dark grey as per the picture. Really smart it is.

Not seen the other deals tbh, but I take loads of photo's so really wanted the 5mp camera as I'll make the most use of it. The whole package suited me, especially porting from O2 which can be problematic. Read some bad customer service reports on Orange, but will speak as I find.

Do you know the cost of the internet with Orange? I'm struggling to find anything.
#14
Check out here,

States that the first two months are free for internet browsing, no costs detailed after that.

The link is dead, but I saw that site earlier and it stated 10p per minute. So unsure as to what it is.

Also saw that on there and some other phone deals listed elsewhere that starting November you get an additional 100 bonus minutes per month free for the first 6 months. Might have to ring 343 for further details.

I read on here that it wasn't possible to check your used quota of texts, I wonder if this is the case.
Also, are any unused minutes carried over to the following month? I'm new to Orange!
#16
Pretty sure that Orange don't allow carried over minutes, and are you going to get anywhere close to using 400 texts ?

Try this then select the price plan relevant under the 12 mth option
#17
No, I'll not use them all up...just wondered about it.

Not a great deal of info in the pack I've got.
#18
I got mine yesterday aswell, very nice phone, maybe too nice for me, first time I've really had a latest phone and my wife wants me to sell :(,

Not sure, we shall see
#19
I was tempted by the N73 with a 12 month cashback, but I'm pleased with this phone. The zoom / pictures I took today were amazing and worth paying the £95 for imo.

The 100 bonus minutes are not for us apparently...rang them today and asked while I was porting my number.

2 months free t'internet though on evenings and weekends - looking forward to using that.
#20
A lot of the networks offer special offers if you buy through them - like the 100 extra mins, pretty sure though that I won't use 300 anyhow.

It is a really smart phone, hmmm decisions decisions.

P.s did you ask how much the internet browsing cost ?
#21
10p per minute I think after the 2 months have expired / peak times.
#22
Can someone confirm if the phone comes badged with the orange logo on the actual phone or is it just "logo-less"
#23
To all those championing M2YD, be aware that no one has received any cashback from this company yet.

This is what's worrying me, it's a lot of money to pay out.
Only got a few days to get a new contract, after cancelling with Three.
Not sure I can afford to take this gamble.

Decisions, Decisions.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them, i'm just stating that comments like this...

...need to be ignored/investigated. :)

Hi there,

The phone that I received is not badged orange.

As for all cashback deals, you pay your money and take your choice.

Most people are going on the reputation that Phones 4 U have as to wether or not M2YD will pay out. I for one think this is a good deal even without the cashback, but I hope the cashback will sweeten it.

I got this and luckily the phone is unlocked!
#28
Yeah mine was an unlocked phone also. Having had the phone for a few weeks now. I really like it very intuitive menu, although I haven't really used the camera.
#29
Only another couple of weeks till we should be getting a cashback application through the door. (just reminding folk)

Thanks for that reminder - I was just wondering when this was due! You read my mind!

Here's hoping they honour the cashback..

fingers crossed.

Hi there,

Just to let you know that I called them today (just off of phone) and I should have received my redemption application on the 3rd May, We have 60 days to apply for the cash back for each occurrence.

Lucky I am pretty switched on to these things as clearly they had no intention of sending out the application (have you received yours ?), Anyway they have reprinted the claim and I should have it within 3 working days.

Note that I asked them about changing my price plan, they said that if I opted for a lesser price plan then I would lose all cashback claims. Just to make you aware.

Give them a call on 0870 901 4711 and quote your order reference no. - which should be in an email somewhere.

Hth Ali
#33
I think I had to call them to get my first redemption application form on another deal, but beyond that everything has been fine.
#34
I had to phone them to get them to send out my redemption form out too. (so did other family members)

Phone them free on 0800 072 5855 (better than 0870's)
#35
Going to chase this up myself - I had emailed them and was told to be patient. However still no form.

Thanks for the updates.
#36
Just been on the phone to M2YD after having to chase up my first cashback form.

Apparently they send out your next claim form along with your cheque. They gave me all my claim dates too - handy for my diary.

Don't forget to cancel with your supplier (Orange here) both by phone and letter giving 30 days notice. Best ring them in advance and ask them when your 12 months is up and allow time to post your letter.

Mine expires early November - a good time to get new deal and a wii for the kids in time for xmas!:gift:
#37
Hey Joss,

Can you give me a note of the dates as mine should be pretty much the same as yours,

Cheers

No probs, Ali.

Ordered 05/11/07
Contract began 06/11/07

1st claim: 03/05/08
2nd : 02/07/08
3rd : 31/08/08
4th : 30/10/08
Send all your cashback forms via recorded (I think is best) delivery or else they can claim you've never sent it. If your first claim is lost they can invalidate the rest. When I complained that I had to chase up the first one they replied "Oh, that's rare!". "Well, it's not if you read the internet!".

Don't forget to ring Orange nearer the end of your 12 month to cancel (in writing too).
#39
Perhaps it's an idea to ring them and ask if they've recieved your form if you've only sent it first class or similar (you've still got about 22 days left to make a claim). If they say no, ask for a replacement form while you still can get one.

Thanks Joss,

Dates will all be the same as mine, I will give them a call to see if they have received - I sent it recorded delivery to them.

Incidentally, I never got the email to say that there was a new post - but thanks for that info.
