Decent price & good tab.

Ordered... Thanks :)

Does anyone know if this tablet will get the update to jelly bean?
#4
We bought one new when O2 were selling them for £250 a few months back and my wife loves it. The screen is beautiful, bright, vivid and very responsive. It was a worthy upgrade for her from the venerable, but long lasting, Xoom.
The tablet updates OTA to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and whether it will get any further updates I guess no one know for sure.

Heat added as the price is good and the tablet has been great.

How does this compare to the Nexus 10?

what is the difference between this and the Samsung galaxy tab? I'm confused, but I'm sure I'm seeing there are two different models?
#8
Good price for one of these. I'd get one if I hadnt just got an iPad Mini last month.

Galaxy note has a pressure sensitive stylus that can be used , the Tab doesn't & i think it also has 2gb ram as opposed to 1gb . Only going on memory regarding the ram , google it just to check (_;)

so not much difference then!

Umm a pressure sensitive stylus is a massive difference if you are after one, as is twice the ram!

It also has a much better processor than the Galaxy tab. My wife has the tab, and I have the note, they are like chalk and cheese in performance terms.

I take it this is the 2013 version

Differences between the Note and the Tab

Had my first play on a mates one yesterday, VERY responsive for Android, nice, punchy screen!

The tab is an Intel dual core. The note is a quadcore.
#17
does anyone know which model this is? The wifi one? or the wifi+3G ?
there's two models. one that also takes a sim, and one that doesn't. which one is this?
#18
The note has the pen, better processor more ram and better quality screen than the tab. So a much better device.

was looking for my LAGGY tab 2 10.1 replacement, I think this one is better. Luckily I can still return galaxy tab 2 to currys I bought a little ago :)

Performance-wise pretty good (if not better) and the pen is a nice touch but just depends on how much emphasis you place on the screen because it's like looking at something from a decade ago (ok so I am exaggerating a bit), the screen resolution is pretty horrible (only 1280 x 800) but other than that it's a really good tablet especially at this price. My only other complaint would be the slightly low-rent feel of the plastics but then this is Samsung so what did you expect?

This is the N8010 (WiFi-only), read the spec on the site, wireless connectivity is only WiFi. The 3G ones are about £100 more on the best of days.

Can it be updated to kit-kat? Any ideas?

I already posted the same ideas a few times, I own this (hope it is the same version, N8010 Quad Core), and the iPad retina, and the Samsung is excellent, much better in any way compared to the iPad (iPad screen resolutoin is bigger though).

Otherwise, it comes with the S-PEN, a futuristic stylus, card slot, IR transmitter (great fun and great to use as a remote for your TV with a special app from Samsung that displays tv programs that are on at that moment) and lots of features that make it fun. Stereo powerful sound (mono only on ipad).

Flash camera on the back (no flash on the ipad).

Regarding speed, it is very fast and responsive. Good battery life.

All in all, great device for the money. At this price, all I can say is buy it.

EDIT: Don't forget Priority Moments for additional money off, or at least Quidco/Topcashback.

Yeah , i must admit i love the stereo front mounted speakers on the Note .Films are lovely to watch Also isn't the ipad a 4:3 screen ratio as well ?, I know the note may not be 1080p , but they still look nice. In my opinion after a while of watching anything your brain switches into a mode that I don't really think you take that much notice of what the picture is like ... I can remember watching tv on an old 14" set with an indoor aerial as a kid & after the initial few minutes you seem to not realise.

Ipad is indeed more towards 4:3, not good for movies but good for reading webpages.
Agreed the resolution is not an issue for movies, at all. But it is good for Teamviewer for instance....
