Samsung Galaxy Note (£322 cheapest possible + £120 worth of music/movies) o2*£21.50pm*200mins*250 o2 mins*Unlimited texts/Wifi*500mb data*DialAPhone Possible £50 cashback £516.00

Same deal as before but the Phone4u one is not free anymore (the phone is now an extra £40) so posted this from DialaPhone (which is owned by Phones4u). Please choose the o2 deal from the link that is £21.50 a month.
Possible £50 cashback from Quidco, Topcashback, etc. but some people are having problems getting it tracked. You may try using Incognito mode on Chrome, clear your cookies, etc but it is not 100% reliable. Phone is unlocked and unbranded. Remember to CANCEL the gadget helpline by unchecking it in the form or call DialAphone. (Thanks to Drew101) You may also cancel using this link https://secure.tmti.net/vip/ (Thanks to LegendPixel)
You can try calling DialAPhone (0800 183 7902) and ask if they can give you the £50 DIRECTLY rather than going through a cashback site. You may also remove the Bolt-on and the gadget helpline as well if you call them so you won't get charged for using it on the first month.
If you go to the Samsung Hub (downloadable from the market) and select Exclusive, you can get £120 of movies and music for FREE (£50 worth of music + £65 worth of movies + AVG Antivirus Pro worth £6.30). It's supposed to have ended last month but seems to still work so worth a try. :)
Data Bolt on downgradeable to save £3 for 100mb or remove it completely making it £15.50 per month. If you remove the data Bolt-on, you will automaticaly enrolled to web daily which is up to £1/day when you connect to 3g. If you don't use 3g, disable it on the phone so you won't get charged.
Cheapest possible scenario: Remove Bolt on for £15.50 a month, that's £15.50 x 24 months = £372 - £50 cashback = £322.
Why is this deal better than just getting the phone SIM free?
* A sim free Galaxy Note is currently £363 from Amazon.de without any free minutes and texts
* In this deal you are paying a possible total of £322 (or lower**) for the same phone with 200 minutes, 250 o2 minutes, and unlimited texts
* Even if you don't want the free minutes/texts this deal will still be cheaper than any deal available for this phone
* The phone is unlocked and unbranded so you can use any SIM with better data plans if you need it
* Free 48 hour delivery (UK stock) + helpline you can call for queries about your order
Pitfalls to avoid:
* Cashback might not track so try ordering the phone by calling Dialaphone and ask if they can give you the cashback directly with your order
* If you cancel, you cannot re-order from o2 as they have a 30 day waiting period before they can accept a contract from the same person
* Remove Data Bolt on immediately if you don't want it so you won't get charged on the 1st month and disable the phone's 3g
* If you order near the end of the month, o2 will charge you on pro-rata basis for the 1st month not the fixed monthly cost
* You cannot downgrade any o2 contract after 9+ months as o2 changed their terms and conditions (Thanks to JoeBoy88)
* Remove Gadget Helpline ASAP, it's no use for regular people and it's better to get help via Google or Galaxy Note forums
* Do not attempt to ROOT your device if you do not know what you are doing, it may void your warranty (unless you know how to UNROOT)
**Some people who wants data can just give the SIM to a family member or a friend and use another SIM like Giffgaff or use their old SIM. I gave mine to a friend who has a very basic phone that can only call and text and he pays me £5/month for the plan which is a good deal for him. I guess most people would think £10 for 200 mins + 250 o2 mins + unlimited text is a steal :)

Why choose Galaxy Note now?
* It has the best price to spec ratio at the moment (better value)
* S-Pen, it is not your average stylus Demo video
* £120 worth of free stuff + £50 cashback + extra 250 o2 mins
* Samsung is spending millions to create apps for it (see below)
* It will take time before you get full developer support with newer models
* It will take time before people find out bugs on newer models
* It will take time before you find cheap accessories for newer models
* ICS update with Premium Suite will definitely arrive (Q2 2012)
* Benchmarks will be much better once the ICS arrives
* Next version is expected to arrive in December 2012
* It was just released in the US last February so it's not old (saw an ad about it last night during BGT)
* It fits regular pockets fine, it is not too big as some people make it out to be
* Once you go 5.3" HD super AMOLED, you might not want to go smaller

If you think this phone is too big then it is not for you so quit complaining.
I suggest you try it out in person in a phone shop and decide for yourself.
Saw the Galaxy s3 and I'm a bit underwhelmed :(
Spec comparison: Galaxy Note vs Galaxy s3
Screen Resolution: 800 x 1280 pixels, 5.3 inches vs 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.8 inches
Processor: 1.4ghz dual core vs 1.4ghz quad core
Graphics: Same (Mali 400)
Back Camera: Same (8mp)
Front Camera: 2mp vs 1.9mp
RAM: Same (1gb)
Battery: 2600mah vs 2100mah
Price: £21.50/month or £15.50+£50 cashback vs £36/month
What you basically get for more money is a faster processor with better software which can be achieved by the Note through a simple software update.
I hope the Note won't jump up in price because of this as it is better in the new s3 in many ways (screen, front camera, battery, support).
Here is a video comparison of the Note and the s3.
Galaxy Note vs HTC One X vs Iphone 4s Browsing speed
Samsung is very keen on supporting the Note by giving out over $4,000,000 to developers for creating apps for it.
They also gave away $205,000 for apps that use the S-pen.
This only shows that they are not just selling great phones but are also helping develop quality apps for them.

However will wait to see what Samsung has come up with, regards the new S3 later today

i reckon faster processor, 4.7" or 4.8" screen, better camera , same screen as the note (super aoled), possible 4G?

It takes more than a quad core processor and a higher megapixel camera to make me want the s3. After having the note, I will not have anything with a smaller screen, the 1.4Ghz dual core processor is more than enough to run all apps available, and the more megapixels does not equal better photos. 4G is useless in the UK maybe until next year. We need something more magical :)

to me, it looks like they are running out of ideas? at first I think the note is too big now after a few days i think It can go bigger as i see all my other phones are too small lol

XDA will probably convert the software gimmicks for other phones anyway.
The lowest price the SGS2 hit was £245 on one of these contract deals.
The Note's a newer phone and cost quite a bit more than the SGS2 from the outset, so I don't think it will be hitting that sort of price any time soon. You may see a contract for £280-300 over the next few months but there's no guarantee.
You'd expect double the advantage for double the number of cores but the s3 is on average just 44% better not 100%.
Quadrant: The s3 is 60% better than the Note
Sunspider: The s3 is 21% better than the Note
Browsermark: The s3 is 50% better than the Note
2 out of the 3 tests the Note is better than the Galaxy s2.
1 out of the 3 tests the Note is better than the HTC One X and S
These numbers are taken with the Note using Gingerbread while most other phones are on ICS.
Developers are saying the benchmarks for the Note will be better after the ICS update they are rolling out.
The s3 is a good upgrade for those coming from the Galaxy s1 but not from Galaxy s2 or the Note in my opinion.

And how long after the contract starts can I PAC into it? My existing contract doesn't end for another 3 months and I'd probably just wait till it ends - can I PAC over then or is it too late?
