Hear me out before this goes cold...

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with VR Headset on Vodafone through mobilephonesdirect on 12 month contract....£825 after £30 quidco cash back.

Samsung Galaxy Note on its own is averaging at about £650

VR Headset approx £70

Total - £720

Vodafone deal is 12gb data

unlimited minutes

unlimited text

12 month finance (not sure what this is)

this is normally £32 on its own but reduced to £19.20

total for contract

£230

total for above deal would be £950 if you buy the phone outright and then get the Vodafone contract...

This deal £825 after quidco cashback, downside is that it's £67 per month, hopefully might be useful to someone

forgot to mention £50.99 upfront cost but I have accounted this in the total cost
#2
Also if anyone prefers only 6gb of data then the overall costs drops to £803 over the year, upfront cost £88.99 minus the £30 quidco cash back Inc...

I've been a lover of the note series for quite a while but I'm pretty disappointed with this latest version.Normaly the note is the flagship model and has had a new camera and more ram and then the S series has followed, yet this time the note is playing catch up on the camera to the S7 and no increase in ram.

can't see why the negative votes this includes a contract deal aswell as the phone...

I was looking to get this I know it's pretty similar to the Samsung s7 range, which would you recommend this or the s7 or s7 edge?
#6
875.99 with 24gb data with unlimited minutes and text plus a vr :) 12 month contract

Try an S7 Edge and you'll see the camera is one of the best on a phone ever and the RAM is more than enough to take on some massive tasks. They have taken the best of that phone and put it in a slightly larger more feature filled phone. The USB C, Retina Scanner and ability to jot down on the AOD display is enough to peak my interest but I agree it's not enough to make me switch from an S7 Edge.

I had an s7 edge an ended up letting my Mrs have it.

I ended buying an s6 edge plus as it has 5.7 inch screen just as much ram and the camera IMO is better as it is 16mp in 16:9 ratio, where as the s7 is 9mp when 16:9 is selected, and yes I know mega pixels aren't everything but I personally tested both phones out side by side for days and the s6 edge plus was better in good light and slightly worse in low light, and for me I take far more photos in good light than low light.

My point is the note series was always the flagship phone for Samsung and the note was always the first to get the latest camera and then the s series, now it's the othe way around.

Also I don't see an advantage of the retina scanner when a fingerprint scanner is more than good enough.

I can't find this 6gb option to make it £803?

On the left hand side, under MORE FILTERS select "12 Month Contract" and it appears near the bottom of the list.

When you click through to mobile phones direct it appears in the basket.

I telephoned MobilePhonesDirect... directly, and said about the deal and that Quidco are offering £30 cashback and could they do anything on the upfront cost directly rather than go through quidco. The lady I was speaking to went off and asked a manager and came back saying yeah they'll knock £30 off it there and then - if you don't ask you don't get!
*Although you still pay the full amount up front, they said they will refund £30 back onto my card within 14 days, something to do with their system*

I've ordered it. When I spoke to them they said they're expecting delivery this friday

Still says 3 days for delivery on their site, so hopefully Friday. Ordered this morning, currently sat at awaiting authorisation from the network.

I just got "Order cancelled. Unsuccessful network application"
If that is based on credit score its bull because mine is very good.

might just be me but vodafone through smartphonecompany (i.e. same as mobilephonesdirect) was a failed credit check, even though vodafone never did one and nothing showed on my credit report.

might just be me but worth noting if it is rejected

Yes i done a quick google and a few people seem to mention the same. Cancelled due credit etc.. But no actual credit check taking place. Whats the point?

must be some sort of failure between their system and vodafone's (i presume?).

oh well, they missed out on a customer, got a better deal elsewhere anyway (for s7 edge, not the note 7).

When did you order, and how long after the order did you get the cancellation message ?

My order has gone through including credit check. Still saying expected delivery Friday, but new orders are coming up as delivery in 2-3 weeks.
